The fact it is a Microsoft console is one reason for the hate. The fact is the world should be in debt to microsoft because without them simple things like the internet and college would be a much bigger headache. Sure they are expensive with their approach but so is Apple. And people do not hate them.
No blu-ray player. Yet nintendo has never had a DVD player. Blu-ray is 100 dollars now at Wal-mart and Blu-ray movie's are finally down to normal DVD prices. It was a smart move. And it is less wear and tear on the 360. And if you have had luck like me then that is one thing the 360 doesn't need. More reasons to break. Which leads me too.......
RROD- Yes it was completely lame but surprisingly it is also part of culture now. It is almost like a badge of honor and has been mentioned in news, late night TV, television show's, and even a song. And one thing people forget. Microsoft fix's them for free. When the PS3 gets the yellow light or quits reading disc (Sony's disc drives have sucked for as long as i remember. CD players, PS1 and 2), Sony charge's around $170 ti fix. And refuse's to admit the broken console rate is a tad bit high.
Sound? Their is nothing wrong with the sound. Sure blu-ray movie's sound awesome and developers are capable of making better sounding games on the PS3 but most of them do not.
online gaming- Yes it is $50 but it is better then PSN. It has better games. I could care less about cross game chat but the games is what I do care about. i mean Shadow complex is the best Metroid game in years! Plus their is always promotions. I got my last 12 months for $29.99. It is worth it to me to play the best multiplayer game on console (Halo Reach) and for the XBLA games.
graphic's- For some reason this is what everyone likes to talk about and for you PC gamers it is the only thing you talk about. There was a post about Enslaved earlier and it brings up a good point. Aside from Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2, there hasn't been anything done on the PS3 that we couldn't see running flawlessly on the 360. But..........is this really true? Crysis 2, Rage, Bioshock Infinite all look better then any console game on the market. And what do you wanna bet that those games will probably look better on the 360. That is the trend in 3rd party games. Speaking or 3rd party games how about RDR, fallout 3, Mass Effect 2, and Bayonetta? Games that are pushing the Tech? We haven't seen Mass Effect 2 on the PS3 yet but the 360 has the better versions of those games. And as a whole, I think RDR is the best overall looking game on consoles right now aside from maybe Killzone 2 or........
Forza 3. Nobody ever brings it up but It is one of the top 3 or 4 best looking console games and IMO the best overall. And the reason people do not talk about it is GT5. GT5 has been worked on for 6 or 7 years and was delayed after Polyphony seen Forza 3 at E3. Polyphony was impressed by it. But cows dismiss it. I even posted 2 podcast from Christmas of last year talking about how the graphics in Forza 3 were better and the podcasters prefered Forza and again it was blown off.

In conclusion. I think the 360 gets ragged because it is an Microsoft made console, Who's biggest title is Halo- a series that concentrates more on gameplay then graphics, not that the graphics are bad. and more importantly the lack of exclusives. But when you're exclusives are Halo, Gears, Forza and PGR.....you do not need many. The $50 a year live crap doesn't help and I am the first to admit that XBL is not $50 better. But it has the games I want and ESPN may be cool. Oh.....kinect. I can't even begin to defend that. When you look at the big picture the most popular games this gen are Rockstar games, COD, Halo, Gears, and Wii games. The sales carts prove that. The best versions of these games are on 360 and in some cases only on 360. Period.

First let me say defending 360 because of Forza is completely illogical. That's like me saying PS3 is the best because of Eye Toy. As for graphics, PS3 and 360 have the same graphics. Yes, its true that multi plats tend to be better on the 360, however, remember Dragon Age Origins? It was better on the PS3 by far. So saying multiplat is better on the 360 is useless because it goes the same way or PS3. And as for your library, its all subjective. No one game is better than the other. Its all your opinion. And your opinion doesnt over rule some one else'sHowever, you can say some things about the PS3 WHICH is fact.
So you have to understand why there is bashing for MS. Its really all logical if you think about it.
