@paul120987 @tretre32 thats the right direction for a cohesive VR platform. Not using a keypad or xbox controller. Damn thats exciting. Now they need to make a open world remake of Silent hill 1 in VR by the original creators
@paul120987 @tretre32 Thats what makes me know this will be a success. Because its giving jaded gamers who have seen it all, that sense of discovery, like when 2d went to 3d polygons.
@Spartan_418 Because it's not a gimmick...Its a platform. This is what every first person game is trying desperately to emulate. And why John Carmack is Oculus CTO. VR has NEVER been done for the consumer.( And the virtual boy was not VR, no headtracking low FOV and mounted to a table lol). This is the gamers holy grail. I just want limb tracking as part of this VR platform.
I have a dev kit, and half-life2 has the best implementation for this VR device. But I urge anybody with a dev kit to download the demo Dreadhalls from riftenabled.com. This is the proof that Amnesia would be a killer app for the Rift. It is fucking shit inducing! And the Rift really needs kinect 2.0 style cameras on the front to be a complete platform for full body recognition. Imho
Everybody really needs to hook themselves up to a chillout I.V. There will be NO definitive "winner" in the console race. Just 2 Megacorps making shit tons of loot and filling their coffers. Buy the one you like or both. your respective company will be OK despite the fanatical circle jerking.
Try Alone in the Rift. that fuckin bloody little girl!!! this is gonna revolutionize horror games. But my fav is Half life 2 in the Rift. No wonder John Carmack took the cto job at oculus. The father of fps finally working on TRUE first person tech.
