that's nice and all... so in what way can we expect to see them using this to spy on us in the future?

playing for Cyber Smile, a non-profit organization dedicated to anti-cyberbullying in a game notorious for one of the most toxic of gaming communities. that sounds wonderful.

oh well, that mildly interesting tidbit aside, i agree with SyntaxKT's comment.

@xcrimsonxsynx: really? being a gamer in general doesn't require a great internet connection. being a gamer largely devoted to multiplayer requires great internet.

FYI: my connection sucks and i am well aware of that. i don't do multiplayer too often due to that and when i do it's usually not that bad overall. most of the lag comes from my laptop not being quite powerful enough to run the game in question at top speed rather than my internet connection.

in no way am i trying to "Great job trying to turn your problem into the developers."

get it through that thick head of yours: not everyone has great internet available where they live. that is a FACT!

glad i'm a pc gamer where i neither have this problem with most games nor do i have to pay EXTRA for multiplayer functionality. but whatever, you want to defend this crap, go ahead.

since when is having a poor internet connection a bannable offense in ANY game? i guess these devs fail to realize that depending on where you live you might not have great internet available.

southeast oklahoma here and we've gone through the dial-up nightmare (so slow many things won't even load at all nowadays). the satellite horrors (unbelievably high ping in games. a great speed overall but if you pass the monthly bandwidth cap (12gb/month was wildblue's best package when we used them) get ready for you're speeds to drop BELOW dial-up until the ISP chooses to end the throttling until it happens agan.). and now we've been on the best of the 3 (sort of a middle ground), wifi with ok-ish speeds, no throttling, and no bandwidth caps.

sorry not everyone is able to meet you're high standards, devs. but that's not really a fault of the consumers, now is it?

@rosinmonkekyx17: agreed, where i live the best we can get is wifi (it's slow but has no throttling or bandwidth caps. kinda somewhere between dial-up and...satellite in terms of speed). thing is, not everyone can get great internet everywhere so that ban reason sounds pretty stupid imo. i guess some people still don't understand that.

repeated disconnects = ban? get better internet or gtf off our games multiplayer, pretty much.

@UltimateBastard: and $93,176,055 later people are STILL throwing money at it.

though, i still wonder, what % of that money is going to the game and what %(s) are going to other stuff as that's no small amount of funding right there,

all those people and all that money and yet... lol they still have no game/simulator/whatever to really show for it.

heh, i wonder if i might see mega man x: corrupted completed before any of those "backers" ever see they're precious star citizen.

@shellcap: uh, no... if a sports fan ever started going around doing that kind of stuff randomly, i'd report him too. then i'd probably stop to wonder what kind of mental problems that "fan" likely had. unfortunately, the media doesn't usually work that way. with things like the media, it's blame the easier target first (video games, the sports, etc.) then later shift the attention to any real problems the person/people in question might've had. just like what FOX NEWS and likely other news channels do whenever theres a shooting crime somewhere and theres even the slightest mention of video games ANYWHERE.

some people simply can't differentiate fantasy from reality and whenever such a person gets on the news it's the fantasy (video games in this case as is so commonly the case with crimes) that gets blamed and not the persons irl problems such as having mental problems.

it's why i don't like news channels since with them it's always blame the video games first and only later on shift the attention to the real problems such as the person/people in question being messed up in the head.
