What needs to be said....other than what took you so long gamespot!

Put simply, show me the games. When there is a solid bunch of games for the PS3 and the costs come down, as they almost certainly will within the next year (around HALO time anybody?), then it'll be worth looking at. Until then I'll take one if im given it, and even then id sell it on Ebay for however little ill get it to shift for. £425 is another rip off for the UK consumer, esp when its far less relatively speaking in the USA, and on average people in the UK earn less than their US counterparts.
