Well I doubt you'll have to 'check in' anyway, they probably assume people with internet connections will leave their console plugged into the net anyway, and do the checks silently (as its done with digital cable), or when you turn on the console to play a game it will probably do a check then, without you even knowing it.
@DJKrayz_basic @macekenobi I could understand if you paid $60 for a fighting game with one character, that would suck.. but getting a game for FREE and then buying characters you want? I don't see how that's a slap in the face? Not saying it's the best marketing move ever, but it seems like a pretty common marketing tactic these days (give the game for free, sell upgrades to make money)
@FELOFLOW @alienroc @macekenobi Not sure what that even meant, but to play games online on Sony OR Xbox you'll have to pay $50 a year (either for PSN + or Xbox Live)
@cantor2537 I'd actually like that idea (about the shooters) as I never pay the campaign, and it kinda bums me out to hear a developer say how much they're concentrating so much on the campaign.. just let me buy the multiplayer portion and cut the price in half. Oh well, I'm going back to Sunbelt Ryders
Article seems a bit misleading, paying for downloadable content and season passes aren't going anywhere, even on the PS4. Also you'll have to pay $50 a year if you want to play online with Sony's PS4. The biggest difference I can see between these two consoles is that the Xbox One costs $100 more.
