Grim Dawn is extremely solid for a six man team and an alpha build. And Path of Exile is truly free. Everything that you can pay for is entirely optional. Cosmetic item/skill effects, and extra stash tabs. I've never filled my initial stash tab, and you get several for free.

That's a joke, right? Wolfenstein 3D (not the first Wolfenstein, but the first one that was a shooter) helped put ID on the map and was essentially the grandfather of all shooters. Return to Castle Wolfenstein was extremely successful. Only the last Wolfenstein did poorly, and I largely blame that on the fact that, by that time, COD was overshadowing everything and a lot of people had forgotten that Wolfenstein had started the WW2 shooter genre. I can't tell you how many people claimed that Wolfenstein was ripping off of COD, when the latter might mot have existed without the former.

I had a wall of text prepared, but I didn't want to do that to everyone, so I'll make this quick.

Parents need to try parenting once in a while. I've been a gamer for 20 years, and grew up around firearms. I now own a few myself, which I only use for target shooting. My father taught me how to responsibly use a gun. He and my mother also told me to put the damn controller down and go outside occasionally. Gaming wasn't my babysitter, it was my hobby. Funny how every time one of these situations occurs, video games are brought up, but the mental instability is an afterthought. Everyone uses these situations to their political advantage, on both sides of each debate. Games, guns, all of it. No one ever bothers to truly fix the problem. They just rub their hands together as they prepare to cash in on the opportunity.

Part of the issue is the blatant misinformation. The average age of a game player is much higher than people think. There are plenty of good games out there besides the ones that are advertised constantly. Not all gun owners are dangerous/crazy/white trash. The ESRB requires basic reading and comprehension skills from parents, and nothing more. If you can't handle that, then you shouldn't be a parent in the first place.

@Quandry Actually, guns have been used for a multitude of purposes for a long time. Back in the day, they put food on the table. Their destructive purpose is the most known, but it is not the only one. I am a responsible gun owner, and I use my guns for target shooting, and that is all. I do own a semi-automatic rifle. Why? Because the AR-15 is reliable, its easy to get replacement parts, and it can be easily customized so that no two look exactly the same. And, whether or not people are willing to admit it, shooting guns is an enjoyable activity, but it needs to be practiced by responsible, well balanced individuals. I hate the fact that every time something like this occurs, I am lumped in with the mentally unstable, irresponsible white trash, or those that own a gun because they hope they can shoot someone someday.
