In this day and age when there is a time and place for better technology, the cost goes up. And for the developers to fit a game on more than one disc might get too expensive. Look at nintendo with the N64. Their games were $80 a pop because it costed the developer more to make the games, friggin cartridges. With blu-ray, bigger space, less money to put into it for that space. Sony is pushing the envelope with technology right now. And I respect them for it, unlike X-box all they care about is their hardware and not focus on software. And unfortunatly people are buying that mentality. It's sad, but true. And as for anime style games, Sony does need oblivion. Sony needs something fresh and new besides a new final fantasy game, or a new dragon quest. I for one am tired of playing grand theft autos or burn outs. I believe that with the PS3, there will be better and fresh games. I'm hoping that they remake wipeout for the PS3.K1LLSWITCH

I'm thinking that at this point, it would likely be cheaper to use multiple dvds than one blue ray disk. As for MS, their focus is on the online community/content--this is the technology they are pushing. And, while it would be nice to say that Sony is pushing the software component, the truth is that they are still pushing the hardware component, which is what the blue ray is. Also, they only care about the blue ray because they have a stake in determining the industry standard.

[QUOTE="SnakemaycryX"][QUOTE="ViN_009"]This is a real tough one, i have beaten MGS2 but i havnt beaten the others, i have beaten the first two SC's. Story wise, i think that MGS wins, the ending is such a shocker, u have to see it. The codec scenes are a bit boring, i mean u actually have to see two people talk for 9 minutes straight! Splinter cell dousnt focus on sam's personal life like MGS does on Raiden and Snake. MGS Invented the most badass charecter ever though, Revolver Ocelot! He is the BEST. and with liquids arm! WOW! Gameplay wise, i have to go with splinter cell, i mean, MGS is so hard to controll sometime, controlling the ausult rifle, is so sensitive! I have SUBSTANCE, the VR in that is good, the SC gameplay is very good, you can do cool moves like stab someone overboard a ship, grap a pipe, then twist the persons neck, there is also a good physics engine in too, so thats awsome. You can also attach 4 different attachment, my fav is the shotgun, that is the best one yet! Graphics, i have to go with SC, MGS has GREAT graphics, and its cutscenes are just TOO GOOD. But over all, SC has a beter overall graphics, true it has not to much cut scenes, but in gameplay, it has so much better than MGS. Sound, MGS, Harry Gregson Williams, or what ever, u rival John Williams.

What can i say, both games are equally good, but i just cant pick one, u do that. PICK ONE PLS. can a mod move this to a more apropriate page? Like System Wars, or whatever u think is best!

Play MGS3. Best game in the world, 52 minuets before gameplay starts. 30 minuete long codec scenes. Above all that, i played MGs3 for over 400 hours and it can kick splinter cells ass. I played splinter cell and i like it but MGS is better.

Have the controls for the 3rd game changed at all since the 1st and 2nd game? That's my hang up with the series.

I really enjoyed the first Metal Gear game; however, I couldn't stand the second one. The controls for me are just too antiquated... which is unfortunate, because I was hoping to rekindle the previous experience I had with the series. I haven't played the third game yet. As for Splinter Cell, I love the games because, quite siimply, the control system is great. In terms of story... let's face it, the Metal Gear stories, while "complex" is fanboy fiction. It's not deep... or profound... It's only confusing because the plot has holes in it through which you could drive a truck. With that said, Splinter Cell isn't exactly rocket science either.

It's pathetically sad that individuals have to resort to putting parts of the $400 piece of equipment on a box... Ah well. Obviously, I'd do the same. With that said, I'm thinking that so long as you keep both the 360 and it's components off the floor and in an open area--ie, not shoved into your entertainment center that has no air circulation or perched on top of your TV--everything should run fine.
