I played the beta and really liked it, but the reviews threw me off. Can anyone else comment on their opinion of MoH?Medal of Honor: Warfighter is a great game. Don't listen to the sh1tty reviews.

I'm getting Borderlands 2 for sure I loved the first one. I guess I should have been more specific... I'm looking for competitive multiplayer.Gears is pretty good but it's not TPS not FPS, but get Gears 3.
Far Cry 3 is also online and from what I hear it's great, but it's mostly a single player game.
I also recommend Borderlands 2, it's a FPS/RPG hybrid with 4 player co-op and it's really addictive. It also has A LOT of hours of gameplay.

I'm looking for a shooter that has good online multiplayer and is fairly new. I don't think I'm gonna get BO2 because the whole lag compensation thing really annoys me. I've played the crap out of BF3, and I'm getting tired of Halo 4. Any other good multiplayer experiences out there that will last me awhile? I'm considering Future Soldier.
It's soldered in!!!??? That's just weird...ydnarrewopIKR? It's so you can't order it with less RAM and upgrade for half the price.
This. You can tell them the disadvantages but you don't have to be a desktop snob. Please don't make "desktop snob" a thing. You guys really should stop telling people they shouldn't have laptops for gaming.
Some people have the disposible income. If they want a laptop for gaming let them have it. Stop being pricks.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed in the 87+ post thread about the new MBP, but I wanted to make sure everyone knew. I think this is kind of ridiculous. Now if you want to upgrade you need to buy a new machine.

I don't think a techie would appreciate your blanket statement about every gaming laptop ever made. Sure desktops are superior for gaming but YOU CAN'T BRING THEM PLACES. That's why people want laptops. As long as they realize that the laptop will be expensive, fairly heavy, and won't be able to max all games (unless it's a massive 17" machine), they'll be fine. I'd recommend looking at the new Lenovo Y580. I'm considering it (especially with my employee discount). It'll be around $1100 and have a 1080p screen, GTX660 2GB GPU, 8 GB of ram, and an i7. Also get a cooling pad for long gaming sessions.dont be an idiot.
dont buy a gaming laptop.
there is no such thing.
gaming is about the experience. so
a: you need to be able to concentrate on it.
b: you need a large screen
c: you need to be comfortable
d: you need good sound
e: you need good mouse and keyboard
f: you want something powerful and the more fluid a game can be the more enjoyment you will get
d: your system needs to be able to disperse heat, something all laptops have a problem with. especially after 6 months of dust
and then, if you dont care about all of that, please consider:
a:everything in your laptop has a lifespan of 2 years, after which your money is completely wasted. as you wont be able to upgrade sufficiently.
b: the case you pay for in a laptop gets thrown away
c: the keyboard gets thrown away
d: the touch pad gets thrown away
e: the motherboard gets thrown away
f: the power supply gets thrown away
g: the monitor gets thrown away
h: cpu thrown away
i: ram thrown away
j: hard drives, thrown away
k: cd/dvd drives thrown away
with a desktop, when things are a little out of date, you can keep almost all of these components and just buy a new motherboard, or cpu, or graphics card etc. making desktops better for the world and better for your pocket.
also consider
a: laptop is easy to steal
b: a gaming laptop will be targeted especially to steal
c: you will look like a nerdy rich kid
have i talked you out of it yet??
can someone STICKY THIS POST please?? because every day there is someone asking about a "gaming laptop", and another person crying that their new "gaming laptop" performs like crap, overheats, was a waste of money. it really annoys me and ever gamer/techie really knows that gaming laptops are overpriced peices of crap that no one should be looking at buying.
thanks

Why would you downgrade from the M14x to the Y580? I can understand saving money, but doesn't the M14x have superior customization options, specifically with respect to the GPU and screen quality?

I was under the impression that the GTX660M 2GB is more powerful than the M14x's GT 650m 1GB/2GB card (the 2GB card is the best card you can get in the M14x). Also the Y580 has a 1080p screen while the M14x has 900p screen.
It's actually a pretty good gaming laptop and much better value than anything Alienware.JC_SpotHonestly an equally specced out M14x would be like $150 - $200 more than the Lenovo with the employee pricing. Without it the Lenovo is more.
