The only thing vaguely FF left is the androgynous eastern-western looking characters. Sakaguchi isn't there to give it heart, Uematsu isn't there to give it soul and the only people left seem to think the way to cure FF is to get further away from what made it great. Even the characters suck now. I mean, I don't know why there are so many Lightning fans out there; she was a total b***h all the way through XIII and had no redeeming qualities at all. At least Cloud had a legitimate reason for being so cold, and actually he wasn't even half as cold as Lightning. "Let's mosey," anyone? The only way Lightning could be even a little bit like Cloud would be if she fell in love with Hope, who then got killed by the villain that no one knew or cared about. Oh wait though, Hope was even more irritating and pathetic than Lightning!
@RPG_Geek107 @magusat999 I'd hate that. It wouldn't be seven. All we really want is a current gen FF7 with better recordings of the music and we'll be happy.
If they want Final Fantasy to be good again, they need the man who created it and gave it its flavour in the first place. Hironobu Sakaguchi is an auteur of gaming and should never have been ousted, as the series has lacked heart ever since.
@StephenSays i know, right? Seriously I know gaming is the new film, but all these pretensious self obsessed hipster types need to understand that QTEs, cover based combat etc are all here to stay and they work well. Gaming is an art and art moves in trends. If these fuckwits don't like it they should just **** off back to their Zunes.
