I have so many games in my backlog that I could be content with no new content for years. Half the games I bought at launch go unplayed (I'm looking at you Days Gone, Code Vein) and get heavily discounted after, so I'll be waiting to buy games until they drop in price. And this pricing has me reassessing whether I even need a PS5 and Xbox Series X at launch anyways, considering you get a better deal if you wait, whether it's them coming down on price, or releasing a "slim" version.
Stop acting like you are being forced to buy every game. Do you really need a new COD every year? No, so stop throwing $$ at every company on DLC, season passes, etc. There is no way you have time to play all the shit you're buying. I'm sure you all have a backlog of games the length of a CVS receipt.
You live in a capitalist society. You can vote with your wallet. Games are a luxury, not a necessity. 2K sports knows that people will pay $70 for a game, and I'm sure Madden will be next. I'll be over here playing Apex Legends for free and paying $49.94 for Cyberpunk 2077. Just wait for games to go on sale, which they will, after their $70 price point doesn't sell like they want. And if they never go on sale, then the good news is, there will be another in the series the next year.
Game prices haven't kept up with inflation, so your real issue should be with your job for not paying you a living wage.
