Is it not enough for a company to please its loyal fans while making money in the process? Why do they have to conquer the world? Why should they compete and be "current" if their philosophy is very different from the way most Westerners do things? There is enough competition for your dollars in that market, and enough customers who want something different to make a healthy profit.

Not for everybody. You hermits can scream until you are blue in the face, but there are many dedicated gamers who game only on consoles and/or handhelds.

@MBirdy88: 3DS IS current gen. Nintendo is the ONLY place for dedicated handhelds to play. There is nowhere else for them to be third party for. Smart phone games are a JOKE compared to dedicated handheld games. Anyone with any experience knows this to be true.

Why would Nintendo want to tether themselves to the competition's hardware? Could you imagine Nintendo games being tied to the fucking Vita? That ship sunk long ago. Nintendo games exclusively on smartphones? Hell no. No proper buttons means extremely limited gameplay, but oh they'd be so pretty to look at.

Nintendo games belong on Nintendo systems. Nintendo games belong on handheld systems. There's a large market for third party Eastern games on those systems. Sorry, but I trust Nintendo and their judgement when the subject about handhelds, not fanboys of other systems.

Neither would be prudent investment at this time.

If I had the money for a proper 4k tv, talking $4000 range, I'd have all the systems, all the games, a luxury yacht, a supermodel gf, private island etc.
