Depending on what "console" means it could be. I could easily see the next-generation of TV gaming being rooted in tablets or microconsoles that hook up to the TV. Whether those would be consoles at that point depends on your definition I guess.

Make sure next year's exclusives are quality games.

Keep updating the online infrastructure to take advantage of XBO's horrid party system and convert online gamers who worshiped Xbox Live the last two times.

Keep making it all about the games. Most people are using tablets and media PCs for everything else. Get those exclusives, indies and better versions of multiplatform games and hype it up.

Graphics aren't more important but if gameplay is identical why not get the version with better graphics?

Every generation I buy multiplatform games on the console with better versions. Last two generations that was mostly Xbox and Xbox 360. This time it looks like it will be PS4. So I'll be getting most multiplatform games on PS4, because why not?

I'll still get an XBO eventually for exclusives, when they have several I really want.

I rolled my eyes pretty hard when I saw the thread title, but I give you props for actually presenting decent arguments without too much idiocy.

Titanfall is a sexy title for people who play online, for sure. I don't play online, so it couldn't mean less to me, but around March I am sure that sucker will sell a lot of consoles, especially since the media seem to be fawning over it without fail. After that game though I'm not sure Xbox has the exclusives edge you're implying... Halo is not what it once was, and neither is Fable. What else does Microsoft really have? They might buy something of course, but that's a gamble.

I couldn't care less about media crap.
