[QUOTE="MBirdy88"] 5 years and no gameplay footage, reaks of gameplay failures and concept problems.santoron

I'm inclined to agree that it really doesn't bode well.

I would too, if it had actually been in real development that long. They announced it years before they actually put a full team on it. Boneheaded PR move? Absolutely, but lets be honest here.

you guys live under a rock? game play footage right here: http://ca.ign.com/videos/2011/01/27/final-fantasy-versus-xiii-gameplay-trailer and to be honest it looks amazing

it is true, in other FFs things were happening, when i played FF XIII it was like every cutscene was them talking about the same thing over and over it felt like a chessy drama, and its too bad since it had an amazing lore background, in other FFs there were wars destruction of cities people dying, even going to space

Krelian-co

people did die in final fantasy 13.. tons of them.. it was like the holocaust...they got everyone onto trains, and were going to murder them not bring them to pulse.. than all those people fell to their deaths and much more..

"It seems someone is spreading a false rumor about Versus being canceled. Heh, just a few moments ago a regularly scheduled meeting for Versus ended. If you were to see the city etc. presented today, youd wouldnt be able to stand from surprise, lol."

"Tetsuya Nomura wanted to give the message that hell soon show the future of Final Fantasy."

I have a feeling they did not make us wait for no reason. This game will be the title everyone wants and I predict a lot of a holes will jump back on the bandwagon.. I support my team win or lose.. even they never lose in my opinion every game has been good in it's own way!

well yes, but only at the beginning and people you don't know, not like say for example in ff ix when they destroy the town that was sheltering you and you just met their habitants

dude.. who cares if people die that has no relevance to the story.. and they are all fighting not to become cieth.. technically dead if you turn.. serah, dajh... turn into crystal.. hopes mom dies.. if you played to the end you would understand more.. every character is flat until you get to know them

[QUOTE="funsohng"] I didn't say it didn't make sense. It made very little sense. And when it did make sense, it was like a 7-year-old child's story. Yay I save the world from this ridiculously named proper noun that I just don't give enough sh*t to remember, with some other ridiculously named proper noun that I just don't give enough sh*t to remember, while being this ridiculously named proper noun that, again, I just don't give enough sh*t to force myself to remember. It's Japanese RPG's cliches at its best, its chyuunibyou (emo-ness in English, I guess, can't find a suitable translation for it) at its best. Whoop-dee-f*cking-doo. and you do all this with a guy named Snow. Snow. Good Lord, I pity the writers at Square Enix Japan, I really wish I can go and help them out, and I would do it for free.MBirdy88

It made perfect sense.. you were just looking at the superficial aspects of it clearly..

have you noticed each of the final fantasy games are grande metaphors. the entire game is a metaphor.

I think you are abit on the dellusional side, you want to pretend Versus has been in development for 5 years because they put their heart and soul into it? what kind of fanboy are you? the reason it is delayed THAT long is clearly there are problems with the concept which pretty much every 5+ year game goes through then tanks on release.

you are a troll

Because the older FF games were amazing. It wasn't until FF13 that Square stopped caring about it's origional fanbase.

squalls_revival

i disagree lol you guys are so negative.

I think if they didn't care about there fanbase they would not release titles like disigea, theatrhym and all the remakes of the old games for portable systems..

This is my favorite one. Its ashame its very underrated and overlooked. It had a great cast of characters and a wonderful story. This was the last Final Fantasy game that I considered awesome. All others that came afterwards were just "meh" imo

I agree this game is nostalia in a package, This was the second final fantasy game I ever played after number 8 and well it was amazing! :) has to be the best cast fo characters and amazing locations in any game with a beautiful story!

funsohng

behind everyone of those "ridiculous proper nouns" was a profound relevance to our world. Your opinion just speaks to your own knowledge of the relevance to the demons in our world.

Oh good lord.... wow. If you are amazed by FF13, I wonder how your mind will blow when you watch/play something with actual meaning.

I edited the post.. "have you noticed each of the final fantasy games are grande metaphors. the entire game is a metaphor." and I am interested in any game that covers themes such as time travel/paradox/transhumanism/singularity/artificial-gods/spirituality/religion... the freakin villain/ boss (SPOILER) is the damn pope... if you don't see the greatness of this game I feel bad for you... I'm sure if you played through it with me, I could get you into it :D
