UT3 demo-Not my kind of game

CoD4 demo-Too linear.....not my kind of game

Orange box-Interested mainly for portal, it's a good deal, and I may like TF2 as well but I dunno.I plan on just asking for it as a b-day present so I don't feel guilty about spending the money if I don't like it ;)

QW-BETA and demo both disappointed me :(

Crysis-Pre-orderd the day after I started the BETA....WINNER

I was skimming over the front page of GS yesterday...orange box, unreal 3, CoD4...same old crap, when I saw a patch for this game.I clicked on it just to see what it was because Ilike strategy/tactics games.I did the best backround check I could and it sounds pretty cool and doesn't look half bad either.Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a demo, which is a major draw back for a game like this.I don't want to go spending money on stuff unless I'm sure it's a winner.Plus some lower tech games I own (granted they're about 5+ years old) don't play worth a damn on my PC and that would really suck to spend $50 on something that doesn't even work.

Are there any hardcore tactics players that own this game, if so I would like to hear some opinions and possibly some clarification on factions (US and Germany only or are they all playable....etc).

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Well for $1300 you could probably make your own desktop and I definitely wouldn't recommend buying a laptop if you are going to use it strictly for gaming. You'd be better off getting a mid-high end PC rather than spending money on a laptop because you are trying to cut corners on spending (built in monitor....etc).Chances are you wont be playing games on any PC for 5 years....Well playing yes but the visuals wont look so great after a while. You'll want to upgrade when that happens and you'll be screwed if you own a laptop, build a desktop (or even buy one) and you can re-use the case at the very least, put whatever you want in it whenever you want, and monitors last almost forever. If you are getting a laptop for some other reason besides cost then go for it but don't get one to avoid spending too much money, you'll just be cheating yourself in the long run.

The rest of your PC matters as well and no one can really give you an accurate answer since all that is currently out is a beta and that isn't a representation of the final product. You'll probably want something better than a 6 series card to play Crysis; again I'm not sure what you'll need but a 6600 most likely wont cut it (kind of a given :D ).I would wait for the demo so you can see for yourself.if it runs poorly then I would come back to this or any other tech forum and ask what will be needed to run at *insert settings here*.People will be able to tell you the performance they got with their PCs and you will be able to make a better decision when upgrading ;).

BF2.I'm shocked that 2142 costs more

I have un-installed BF2 at least a half a dozen times out of sheer rage (bugs, bugs, exploits, bugs, CTDs, bugs :x) and come back for more----that is how good it is, when I cant find any other good squad based shooters and I have the urge shoot stuff, I reinstall just for the sniping :o.

2142 is a mod + advertisements at it's very best and not worth the money or the time IMO.....Technically BF2 isn't either but it's addictive >.>

I don't really care about Halo 3 right now, I was kind of looking forward to it since I thought the first two were fun but it just got stored in the back of my mind since there are so many PC games I'm looking forward to.I dont see myself buying a 360 in the near future and I pre-orderd Crysis today....nuff said :P.

Good game but it just doesn't have the same feel as some of the older games. Not really sure why, it could be the frustrating AI or the diplomacy.RTW had some similar issues but that era was just so much cooler than the medieval era IMO.I actually re-installed shogun on my PC, that is how fun the older TW games are.

The mods for M2TW make the game about a million times better and there are some really good ones being made as we speak so the game definitely has some value.

In-N-Out > Carl's Jr. > Jack in the BoxCJL182

I second that.Nothing else is even worthy of being mentioned.

EDIT: I forgot about Sonic.I went there when I was in Tennessee and it was pretty damn good.
