All good except for insinuating that EVA was Snake's mum. She wasn't.

@ TehEnergy. You cannot compare games that have been ported from PC to PS3 and 360 as the 360 is basically just a PC. These games weren't developed specifically for the PS3 and as it is less similar to the PC in terms of hardware, the comparison means nothing in terms of console power. Only in the porting skills of the developers. Have a peek at some of the PS3-exclusives. If they were ported to Xbox now without any visual updates, they would almost surely look inferior. This Gamespot article, though informative in terms of game-specific visuals, proves nothing.

Yeah Victor, i agree on all of your points. Live video chat in the lobby is a GREAT idea, bandwidth isn't an issue if they code it properly. The downloadable content issue popped up for Xbox360 owners a little while ago when they got scammed into issuing credit card details to pay 50 CENTS for Horse-Armor on Oblivion. PC gamers get this for free but Microsoft feel the need to target their "much appreciated fans" to pay extra for something that wasn't even made by them! This sort of behavior by Microsoft is unacceptable. We need to send a clear message that we will not pay extra to play a video game we have already forked out $110 for. I don't know about you others out there but I don't want to pay a fee reminiscent of an MMORPG just to play a good FPS online, but this is where the market is headed. Xbox Live are doing it right now! By abandoning the people who would make you pay extra for a service like this you are sending the message that you won't be manipulated. I am leaving Microsoft as a console customer and joining Sony, and good riddance.

Hang on, you can't pay out on Xbox. Saying that they released 1 good game for every 100 bad ones isn't something I'd agree with. Heck yes I'm buying a ps3 and no-one can change my mind, but Xbox had a lot of good games. Morrowind, Halo and Halo 2, The Suffering, The Max Payne series, Soul Calibur II, DOA and Fable to name a few off the top of my head. The only thing I think is a shame is the lack of packages that the ps3 is available in. It would be nice to pay say $1100 and get the premium package plus a game and an extra controller or something. Oh well, no skin off my nose, i'll just buy them separate :). "The 360 was a big victory for american technology over over-hyped and over rated Japanese technology. By the way i am not American so there is no nationalism at all involved in what i am saying." Yes but you aren't Japanese and you are a 360 owner, so nationalism aside, your argument is still biased isn't it? :|. Plus the "battle" hasn't even started in Australia yet has it? Your victory is a little premature..

Paullondon can we set the record straight please? Check your facts mate, Halo 2 and Doom 3 both run at 30 fps, so by saying that Xbox has a better frame-rate (okay buddy...) you are just digging yourself deeper. If you want to see superior depth and quality, have a look at the Metal gear Solid series, which looks far superior in terms of realism, texture and modeling. Halo 2 is full of glitchy texture-popins and exploits. Graphical quality is not determined by Microsoft, it is determined by the developer of the games. Neither the 360 nor the ps3 have 'better graphics', it's how the game developers chose to integrate the power and capabilities of each system. Blu-ray is merely a storage disc, it has NOT made developers jobs more difficult. First AND third party developers have had no trouble developing for the ps3. I don't need to ask the desk-clerk for upcoming releases because when I want to hire a game I can't hire one that isn't out yet can I? "Best" is just an opinion, so until you can provide some evidence, and not fabricated cr*p, please don't post again. Oh and Xbox 360 overheats whilst playing Gears of War, which is the pinnacle of its existence.

Okay I may be repeating what others have said but bear with me. I am an Xbox owner, I prefer Xbox over ps2 and believe its range of individual games, HD, Live support and 4-controller ports more than made up for its lack of games AT THE START OF ITS LIFESPAN. It now boasts some of the redefining titles of many genres, e.g. Halo, Halo 2, Half-Life 2 (yes i realise it's a port but ps2 couldn't run it could it?) and many of the games that made ps2 so desirable, e.g the GTA series, MGS2: Substance and the adaptation of the Mortal Kombat series. However... and this is rather a large however. In my personal opinion i would prefer to be a developer working on ps3, the cell processor opens so many doors. The point has been made that Cell will make designing games for multiple platforms difficult. So? If by multiple platforms then you mean the 360 then they have already succeeded in that aspect multiple times. Porting on the Wii is totally out of the question of course... Ps3 have a superior opening lineup with their games, it's just a fact. Even now I walk into video stores and see the "same old" stuff on the 360. Yes there are some quality games that are a lot of fun to play like Gears of War and Oblivion (which is also appearing as an expanded edition on the ps3 by the way) but ps3 looks to have so many games that will top these. 360 is in the second generation. IT IS ALSO A FACT. Don't try to say that ports of 360 games look better or worse on 360 or ps3. That's because they were originally designed for use on the 360, hence the name ports. When ps3 exclusives come out and are perhaps "ported" to 360 I have no doubt that they will look far superior on the console the were DESIGNED for. Free online multiplayer support, Video chat and easily accessible game downloads are just the tip of the iceberg. I'm sorry but as an original Xbox owner and ps2 hater, Sony have well and truly converted me, a task which before the release of the ps3 would have been, considered by me, to be impossible. Oh and I don't care about the price, I have a part-time job and will easily be able to fork out $1000 even on 2 shifts a week with no support from my parents, so big woop.
