Nowhere in this song did I hear any heavy metal, this is just a rock ballad. A pretty bad one at that. The guitar work was kind of nice but the riffs were mind numbingly simple per the usual rock trend and the video was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. Sorry, but greatest heavy metal band ever is not a worthy title at all for this band.

ex-mortis

I think you may be taking this too seriously.

Well of course. I don't generally listen to music because it's "awesome" or "epic win". Their music is mostly just insipid and recycled riffs and folk songs from what I can hear, and their image is absolutely not cool in any way. This is for children from the looks of it so I don't really mind that fact, but saying this band is awesomely cool is ridiculous, this band offers nothing new. I don't hate them though. It's alright stuff, but certainly not the best metal band in existence, or even close to best in recent years, in my opinion anyway.

You're still taking this too seriously.

I work in IT and I hate 2007 for several reasons. Yes, it may be a "better" Word Processor but they have changed the format so much from 2003 to 2007 that it makes it difficult to adapt to it at first.

Also, the stupid .docx files do not work on 2003 or previous versions.

Your first complaint is pretty silly; of course a completely new interface takes some time to get used to.

About to start on my Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Physics. I'm considering minoring in pure mathematics depending on how well I can handle University mathematics.

I probably fit into that category.

Ok, now post where theve said tehre not supporting L4D anymore...ya good luck with that.

When I see it, I'll know I'm wrong. As of now, Valve has no plans for Left 4 Dead 1. But I'm sure they'll going to try and pull the wool over the eyes of skeptics and release some rejected content for Left 4 Dead 1 just so they can say how great they are.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/06/04/valve-on-l4d2-trust-us-a-little-bit/

RPS: So is there any chance of new content like new maps and new campaigns in the original L4D?

DL: Yeah, there's certainly a chance of that, and we're not announcing any of the specifics of that today. Like I say, stay tuned, there's more coming, there's more information we're going to talk about for the sequel, there's more content coming for Left 4 Dead in the fairly near term, that I think will sort of add to this picture and hopefully change some people's opinions of what's happening right now.

I think everyone should read this interview with Doug Lombardi (from Valve): http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/06/04/valve-on-l4d2-trust-us-a-little-bit/

RPS: The main point of contention has been that a while back there was a statement from Gabe Newell given to VideoGamer in which he said there were plans to add more characters, unlockables, weapons and achievements to the original Left 4 Dead.

Doug Lombardi: So, we've made a number of releases on the PC, and we made a pretty big release on the 360 in terms of the DLC, and we were able to get out for free which I thought would pretty cool, and it was not an easy thing to pull off. Beyond that, we plan to continue updating Left 4 Dead. We're not done with that title, it's not over. The SDK stuff just came out. I think we mentioned to RPS that if you're using the SDK and making maps for it, those will work for L4D2 as well. We are trying to keep the community together - we're going to be doing more stuff about keeping the community together as we get closer to launch.

I think the short answer is: trust us a little bit. We've been pretty good over the years, even with L4D going back just a few months, about supporting games post-launch. Gabe's always talking about providing entertainment as a service - it's not about making a game any more. That's one point of it.

Right now, $70 CAD is equal to $56.43 USD.

The cost probably evens out with taxes taken into consideration.

It's difficult to say how much profit Nintendo is making from each Wii sold since they haven't released any figures to the public themselves, as far as I know.

The $6 profit figure was from one analyst, while another analyst is stating the profit to be at $74 in Europe, and $49 in the US (back in 2007).

ezikiell

The European profit is 74 euros, not 74 U.S. dollars according to one analyst.

Yeah, it does seem that way (at least by current Yen/Euro exchange). The article should have said 74€ instead of $74.

Nintendo did not release any figures on how much it profits per Wii console, so it is wrong for us to use figures based on the opinions of outside analysts.

ezikiell

Not sure if this statement was directed at me, but that's pretty much what I was getting at in my post.

Is that so? :|

-starman-

Yes it is!

that's some incredibly selective reading there.

from your own link...

"it seems that Nintendo's brainchild is only costing $158.30 to manufacture, before you consider the Wiimotes and whatnot (not to mention marketing and distribution costs) that end up being bundled with it"

how much do you think those other parts cost? just curious.

[QUOTE="SamiRDuran"][QUOTE="nVidiaGaMer"]

Not ahead all the time. When the 360 launched it was more powerful then 95% of all home computers.  Also PCs can't beat a console in price, power consumption, noise, and amount of room it takes up.

nVidiaGaMer

i only agree with noise output. nothing can come close to the xbox360 jet engine. my pc is deadly silent.

Facts are that it takes up less space and uses much less power then a high end/mid end PC (160 watts for 360 some graphics cards alone draw that much power).

The difference isn't all that huge: http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-356-2.htm

The article is a bit old, but still relevant.
