akumous - very valid points. I look back at the cod series and see how the IP is now being milked for every penny possible. Skins, costumes & additional maps aren't the problem it's when the DLC on a disk covers entirely new levels - which have to be purchased separately. I suspect this may be coming our way sooner rather than later.

If people feel outraged over DLC and witheld content then for the love of God DON'T BUY the game & send a letter of complaint to the publisher. That too goes for yearly 'updates' of the same rehash - and I'm thinking of COD specifically. Personally if the DLC is crucial to the main game then I'll not touch the game until the RRP has dropped. If on the other hand it's none essential than I'd consider a purchase. You can understand why publishers might be adopting this practice given the size and popularity of the second-hand games market but even if that were to be wiped out or significanlty reduced I'm sure they wouldn't curb their business practice until we the consumers vote with our wallets. Some here have suggested that we simply get along and pay for it or else we'll not get the games we want?!! You lot having a laugh or what? They develop, set a price and we pay. Simple transaction process which shouldn't result in us being held to ransom for corporate greed.

GOW graphics were fantastic. GOW 2 looks even better. What a brilliant send off for the PS2 owners sheers class. Now if only Sony can iron out the few problems they have with the PS3.............

Staccat0, the article might be constructive but when comments such as ''I don't know if management at Sony became complacent after the PlayStation 2's ludicrous popularity'' are made people have a right to question the author's preference. And by this I specifically mean using the term 'ludricous' as if somehow the author's suggesting that the PS2 should not have achieved what it did in comparison to the power of the Xbox.

rarson, whats wrong with someone having a little bit of patience? Sure the purchase price is high & expensive but its an investment in the same way as any other console before it. The PS2 had a weak launch and look how that turned out. You cant expect all AAA titles to be released at the same time.

kamakazi_1, its fanboy comments like the ones you've just made that make me wonder what on earth 360 owners eat for breakfast. Every sentence is full of contradiction.
