At the rate these are going it could be well over a year plus into the life cycle of the consoles before I get one or both. Honestly I'm starting to not even worry about this gen. as I haven't even bothered trying. I have zero desire to buy into this frustration and genuinely feel bad for everyone who keeps trying only to be instantly disappointed. The supply for either console is abysmal after a year plus of hype, no one cares about combating the bots, and everyone that feeds into scalpers deserves to pay through the nose. Dumb. Count me out.
I ended up with a "S" because I had to wait so long and finally got a PS4 Pro long after launch. Having a console barely longer than half its life cycle before it all starts over again is absurd.
At some point you simply decide not to go to the circus instead of being mad at the clowns.
@bgrosz: The first 4 words you wrote are the only ones that matter. This is exactly how the 1st Amendment protects you, and a contract with an employer does not. The rest is irrelevant.

I am following both major consoles as details are provided, but genuinely hope (and would honestly suggest) that the over-the-top fake enthusiasm be dialed back significantly by whomever hosts. May was simply awful to watch.
@irishknife: I'm with you buddy. I love my PS for the exclusives, but I hate that controller. My XBOX is generally my go-to machine but they just seem riddled with issues in some fashion eventually.
@dancingcactus: Thank for the idea Cactus/Sahara. I built a computer several years ago to see if I could. Short version of the story is that it was a Hackintosh that could also boot Windows. I was successful, but boy that was a stressful project.
For me, I just never got into computer gaming. School was always Mac based and I haven't felt comfortable digging into the file structure since Windows XP. I feel so much more at home with a controller and the ease of a console on the 75" TV. I know that you can use a controller on a computer, but I just never got into it. The value of the software is certainly unbeatable on a CPU but I know that the components of a good/current gaming rig can really be up there.
@fanboyman: Thanks for the input. I've looked at the Switch several times but never pulled the trigger. At some point the obligations of family and responsibility gets factored in and the line gets drawn. I think the 360 was cursed for just about everyone. By the time they got the heat sink issue sorted it was time for the ONE.
