I would personally never get in on this as I consider xbox live to be a ripoff in and of itself(another arguement for another day), but this isnt nearly the ripoff some of you are making it out to be.

Retail prices:

Xbox with kinect= $300, 2 years of XBL= $120. Total $420

This deal:

$99 down. then 24 payments $15= $360. Total $459.

Its $40 more dollars, a little less than 10% flat interest rate over 2 years. Not a huge deal. Now we can sit here and argue the idiocy of paying retial, not to mention spending that kind of $$ on a console this late in its lifecycle, but retail is what it is. (realizing a bit of research usually gets you a much lower price). This isnt a deal for slickdealers, but its not rent-a-center either.

[QUOTE="SamiRDuran"][QUOTE="sadmaker"]

yeah make up theories we've heard them before. i saw massive difference between 1080p and 1600p in 30" and i'm sure i will see the same amount of difference when i get my 2160p monitor. I'm also an audiophile, i can hear massive difference between mp3 and lossless songs but again i have a £300 pair of headphones that bring out every little detail. my advice to you is to start enjoying the finest things in life and stop living like a peasant.SamiRDuran

Attempting to correlate the difference between those resolutions to the GULF between lossless and mp3 is laughable. I get that you're doing it for effect, but going a bit overboard.

i didnt bring that comparison up.

Indeed you didnt. I deleted the wrong QUOTE box.

Anyone that doesnt see the value in Infamous 2, LBP2, and R&C for a $50 subscription(not even including the all the others as well as discounts) is either a raging fanboy or doesnt understand a good value, specifically people touting a $60 service touting multiplayer, and a bunch of other services I dont pay an additional fee for when I pick up a $70-$100 blu ray player. An xbox console has been, and continues to be my main console since 2002, but I havent paid for xbox live in years.

Best reasons imo to get a slim are:

1. if you plan on using it as a blu ray player, and have a surround reciever capable of decoding the new HD audio codecs (DD True HD, DTS Master Audio). The slims bitstream the sound directly to the receiver, whereas the phats decode internally and send as PCM to reciever. Some say the sound quality is the same, but others say bitstreaming is better.

2. you can control your PS3 with your televisions remote (only if you have a Sony Bravia TV lol) if you are connected with an HDMI cable. This is Bravia sync.

Otherwise, the 2 systems are identical for the most part. I would suggest going with a bigger HDD, maybe 320gb or even 500gb if you plan on getting all those PS+ games, but you should be able to find those HDDs on the web starting around $50

Pretty happy about it actually. Not interested in making the leap right now and I dont want Sony/MS to drop or reduce support of current gen systems.
