I definitely enjoy variety and try to mix things up often. I do that by trying different restaurants though. If I'm at a restaurant I already know and enjoy, I will typically order what I enjoy that brings me back to said restaurant. Not always, but generally. That being said, I am always trying to try new places. Sometimes it will suck, but sometimes what I find will be very good and at least its a new experience. I mostly try this with Chinese/Asian restaurants. There are so many Chinese places around me and I enjoy going to them all and trying different things. I read an article in the LA Times once about a guy who has tried 6297 Chinese restaurants across the country and keeps a spreadsheet of all of them, I'm inspired by him ;)

Good suggestions everyone. Although by 'under the radar', perhaps I should have been clearer or used a better term. I definitely didn't mean avoiding taxes, my mistake on that one. I just meant jobs that perhaps not everyone thinks about as a possibility. I suppose mentioning the lack of taxes on refereeing and using that term caused the confusion.
My whole idea was, if you really want to get a job paying ~$8/hr somewhere, it shouldn't be too hard. There's nothing wrong if you do that, lots of people do and I have as well. But I also think that there are many better, perhaps less obvious alternatives. Greenskeeper on a golf course and security guard are two things I probably wouldn't have thought of but are good ideas (although security guard not for me because I do not look very intimidating). Taking his idea a step further, I hear that caddying makes very good money, but not many people think about that. I don't, that is until he brought up greenskeeping. Maybe dealing blackjack is an obvious job choice and I am just naive because I do not go to casinos often but I would have never thought that they earn such good money. I also didn't think reffing youth soccer could be as lucrative for what it is. Basically I'm just wondering what other ideas I, and maybe everyone else are missing out on. Cheers everyone.
Missed it, don't watch any Mexican league. Does sound very exciting though and I did read about it in the Daily Fail. I will make sure to watch those highlights tonight.
What kind of good paying, perhaps not often thought of part time jobs have you had or do you know of? With the summer here this could be a good list for myself and many others who would like to work. I ask because in the fall and spring I referee youth soccer matches, and the money for what you do is fantastic in my opinion. The money fluctuates based on age group and the league, but $30 for refereeing 12 year olds for an hour. $15 if you're an assistant referee. No taxes taken out either. Sure, sometimes the parents or coaches are unpleasant, I don't want to wake up early on the weekends, or the weather is cold and/or rainy, but it also provides good exercise, you get to make your own schedule, and no boss, you are the boss. As much as I may get frustrated with the negative aspects of refereeing, the thought of going back to other jobs to slave away at $8 an hour is terrifying. 2 summers ago I worked at our local ampitheater for that wage. I did not enjoy it but sucked it up because it was work, but when compared to the refereeing, it was terrible.
I have a friend and cousin who deal blackjack. They make very good money, almost $15-20 an hour, and also tips. I don't want to deal blackjack, but I never would have thought about that as a job, nor soccer refereeing if I didn't watch it on TV a lot. That begs the question, what other potentially lucrative jobs are there out there under our noses? I've offered 2 suggestions, what about you guys???Â

Now to be fair, you do have to take a class to referee and also deal blackjack, and purchase the referee uniform for soccer. So there is some initial investment of time and possibly money. But once you're past that, very good money for not very strenuous work.Â
I put in my username and pw but aren't even able to attempt to login? Is this happening to anyone else? I'd feel better if I could try to login in and get an error but my login button never changes.
Whoa whoa whoa... Demetri Martin a low level comic? You can't be serious. I'm done arguing about the 3DS but I'll take the bait on this one.
Perhaps you just don't like him. Fair play. Nothing will please everyone and he does have a particular brand of humor. Might not be everyone's bag. Or perhaps you are talking about that garbage Woodstock movie he was in that I never saw. That I can agree that not every comedian has to be a movie star. But calling him low level, that's just ridiculous. He is one of the highest level comics out today.
I love dirty comedy as much or more than the next guy. Give me sex jokes, use the F word a lot. That's funny to me. I could also accept that being called low level though. It's easy, everyone does it. Not hard to replicate. Low level.
I have no affinity for Zach G and aren't familiar with Brian Regan. Although I think Nick Swardson is hilarious (not so much his stand-up, but his other things, like Gay Robot, which is extremely funny, and his Comedy Central show Nick Swardson's Pretend Time, which I just watched all 7 episodes of on Netflix Instant and is a great sketch comedy show). I can accept him being called low level though. There's nothing unique about his humor. He just tells cool dirty jokes and has a cool voice.
Demetri Martin though. He does music, drawings, is incredible with words... I don't mean that he speaks well, he is actually incredible in the way he manipulates and arranges words. He is a master of the palindrome.
He may use an F bomb every now and then, but he doesn't rely on the typical comedy go to moves. He is unique and one of the best comics today in my opinion. Incredibly diverse, talented, and very intellectual, which surprises me that you don't like him. I may think your opinions are stupid haha but you are obviously not a stupid guy. That is meant as a compliment.
It just seems that most people I see who don't like him are stupid and just don't get it. The comedy goes over their heads. I was reading his new book in school one day with a friend, This Is A Book, just beside ourselves laughing. My stereotypical hot dumb as **** blonde friend asks to look at it. She reads a few pages and asks, "Is this supposed to be funny?"
Granted, not every page is a home run, but if you knew this girl (I'll tell a story if I make another post, this one is too long already) it was just a perfect moment because he is an intellectual comedian and she is as previously stated dumb as ****, not even realizing it's an attempt at comedy.
tl;dr - Demetri Martin is awesome.
