When the next set of consoles do arrive and all the current console gamers become jaded with them, I wonder how many we'll see cropping up in our PC servers complaining about the "good old days" before consoles went "mainstream." I can't wait to remind them how fervently they insisted all PC gamers are elitist old men. Oh wait, we are :3 Don't worry, someday you'll understand.

Gamespot fails yet again... * Final Fantasy IV (SNES | PS | GBA | DS) * Final Fantasy VI (PS | GBA) * Final Fantasy VII (PS | PC) * Final Fantasy VIII (PS | PC) * Final Fantasy IX (PS) * Chrono Trigger (SNES | PS | DS) * Blue Dragon (X360) * Lost Odyssey (X360) * Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) * Away: Shuffle Dungeon (DS) No SNES listing for FF6, no mention of FF5 at all, credited for Chrono Trigger when he barely contributed. All but a few tracks from CT were Yasunori Mitsuda. What a horrible misrepresentation, how do they get away with this crap?

Anybody that has issues when alt+tabbing needs to LEARN TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR OS. You could also just... *GASP!* play in WINDOWED MODE! The world has been using Windows for well over a decade now and there are gamers that STILL can't figure it out?

@makchady Perfect example of someone inexperienced with PCs. I've been running the same install of Vista 64 for over a year and don't have a single virus. I average about 1 crash to desktop every 2 weeks, which for me means about 80 hours of gameplay. I've only had about 3 system crashes total, and I average major hardware updates about once every 3 years. I built the tower I'm on now in summer '07 and only reinstalled Vista once, not because of bugs or viruses, but to switch my primary hard drive from the original 250GB I salvaged to a 1TB I bought later. Avoiding viruses is so easy it's almost a joke, but the sad, sad truth is millions of gamers have no idea how because they don't even want to bother learning. First, backup whatever you need to and reformat, then it's just a few steps: 1: Get Firefox as the first thing you do when you first get online, NEVER use IE after that. 2: Get the noScript addon for Firefox. 3: Avoid suspicious sites (in other words, stop downloading porn off random google searches). You can get the Web Of Trust addon for Firefox to help with that. 4: Use torrents instead of P2P. 5: ???? 6: PROFIT! And the video card linked in my upgrade picture (the EVGA 512-P3-N976-AR) has an s-video output with HDTV support, so you can easily plug the card into a TV and use a USB controller to play on your TV like a normal console. If the cords aren't long enough you could get a 25' S-video cable for $8, and a 16' (although that's pretty overkill) USB extension for $10. As for pointing out the differences in motion: you're absolutely right. Honestly I think graphics should be the last thing to enter consideration over any game, but PC already has superior controls (two words: exponential acceleration), mods, networking, thousands of free exclusive indie titles, and unlimited backwards compatibility. Graphics are just icing on the cake.

Oh and to add onto the whole price debate: A good 1920x1080 monitor with HDMI support (the ASUS VW246H) runs for $289 While the cheapest 1080p-supporting TV I could find (the Sceptre X32BV-FullHD) was $599. Go ahead and search for either of these on Newegg.com to check the prices for yourself. I googled for other sites too and couldn't find a cheaper 1080p TV, so feel free to post a link if you find one.

@ange10 look at this picture. There's your card. $134 is 91.6 pounds. LESS THAN HALF WHAT YOU SAID. @gizzy82 look at the picture. That's better than what I'm using and I can run Crysis maxed. img254 [dot] imageshack [dot] us/img254/2277/360upgradeij3 [dot] jpg

@ange10 That's probably because you're an idiot and looking at prebuilt PCs. The only thing stopping everyone from being a PC gamer is ignorance. It's not even hard to build a PC but you guys don't even want to TRY. And you can't give me any arguments about preferring controllers because there are USB adapters for every controller out there and gamepads built for the PC to begin with. You can't give me any arguments about features because ANYTHING any other system does the PC was already doing better before that system was released. And you can't pull that "costs several times more than a console" nonsense because you only need to update the 4 core components. Everything else from a working PC can be salvaged. The only reason anyone is a console gamer is exclusives and ignorance. If all those games were multiplatform on PC (which wouldn't be hard at all since ALL games are developed on PCs and then translated to their respective consoles' architecture) there would be no reason for consoles to even exist.

Gamespot has no clue what they're talking about with that "PCs cost 3 or 4 times more" nonsense. You can upgrade the PC you already have to this level of graphics for under $500. img254 [dot] imageshack [dot] us/img254/2277/360upgradeij3 [dot] jpg

Can't afford to buy games just because they're "cool". And I'm glad. What a shallow waste of money... And Carrie needs to actually play those games she listed. She'd be pleasantly surprised. At least with Earthbound. Can't say too much for DW.
