it's a lot quicker than a lot of shooters today, it retains a charm as well.

It's a refreshing antitdote to the overly serious and gritty ww2 and modern shooters that saturate the market today.

Basically, Subrosian moaned, people (mostly from Avant-game :?) started to try and derail the thread by always questioning its existence (despite it's popularity) using the fact that it occasionally went off topic even though it was actually them turning it off topic with their self righteous and petty objections, ironically. It was unstickied anyway because of that backlash, them the mods ruled it illegal and deleted all of it.

I don't understand why mods can't allow the community to flourish, the community is very important, and catering it can be advantageous for this site.

Health bar is far more competitive in my view - also, there's nothing like having 10% health on doom with a crimson face then finding a secret room full of health packs, moments like that can't be found in regenerating health games .. i think it's convenient for developers though.

The first one definately does.

Second one? .. only just, because of the implemtation of online (nothing new for the PC ofc, but for console standards it was bloody good at the time).

Third one? tricky one, i haven't played it enough personally.

The best game in the series.

For those who've played Morrowind and Oblivion and not this, don't expect this game to be anything like those two games .. expect a far deeper expirence, breifly there's more skills, multiple endings, deeper dialogue options, more weapons .. hell, you can even go to court after murder.. and a lot more. It's generally a longer game aswell, although the randomly generated parts of the world and the inaccessibility of the game can hurt the sense of immersion.

and there's t!ts aswell, for the DOA fans.

Given the amount of exploits in the older three games, i cant call them deep. I really hope they strike a good balance between Morrowind and Oblivion in the next game.

You can't? That's a shame, exploits do exist, depends if you want to use them though, oblivion was hardly exploit free .. it had a money exploit when if used could practically make you a millionaire.

If you're going to say that Oblivion is deeper than Daggerfall and Morrowind just becuase Oblivion has less exploits, then I don't think that's a convincing argument. I'd rather use the wealth of options, items, classes and game mechanics Daggerfall and Morrowind have over oblivion to make that judgement.

I thought this day would never come, too bad I already bought a copy off Ebay for $60... Either way, DaggerfallXL is looking great!

They released Arena for free 5 years ago ..

Morrowind will presumably follow the pattern

I doubt it, its still a steady seller.

Still in five years time? There may be compatibility issues with future OS's, which would make it a hard sell (games from the late nineties, like Thief suffer from this).

But it all remains to be seen.

In SW, it's almost become synonymous with Activision, and their increasingly unpopular tactics. Of course, you can't dismiss the idea that simply, it's seen to be 'cool' to dislike a popular franchise -like Halo and GTA.

Those two theories aside, I personally haven't got the appetitite for the franchise. imo at least, the original has yet to be topped. United Offensive and what it brought to the series also just hasn't been built on, which just seems like a missed oppurtunity. Lastly, the online play just isn't competitive enough for me.
