Part of the reason why Crysis doesnt run as well as it should is because its poorly optimized. In its current state it does not take advantage of multicore processors. For people with quad cores, Crysis only utilizes one core at a time, which explains its poor performance on top of the line hardware. Once these problems are corrected, probably through future patches, then the power of multithreading combined with a single 8800 will be able to run Crysis smoothly with an extreme high definition resolution. Also, if you're running 64 bit youre supposed to see a 12-15% performance increase but right now, thats not happening.
