@pattonc

I'd rather have controversy and discussion, than have them spoon feed me the same stale trash.

@VMX_Anubis

If a journalist has created controversy he has done his job.

Tom said:

"I find it sickening and shameful that health is treated so unrealistically"

I'd agree with this statement.

@kingdre I feel for Tom.

He obviously understands the point.

Greg is ignoring what the argument is about.

(regenerating health/ realistic combat)

@LtReviews

Its not perfect, but at least it's finite.

You need to conserve resources, and think about what you do.

There are different sorts of fun.

I think Tom is saying that war games shouldn't be the joyful smiley sort of fun, but rather horror movie sort of fun or the good book sort of fun.

People engage with, and enjoy many activities, without them being defined by the masses as"FUN".

Tom may be ahead of his time.

Look at dead space & dark souls.

-No regenerating health

-No jolly rainbow type fun

-Still engaging & entertaining

Not having regenerating health can create a feel of real danger , and makes you think about every action.

Non-regenerating health can be used in fast paced games too (such as UT2004 and such)

I think Tom wins this one (regenerating health is overused, and devalues your character's life and the authenticity of getting shot).

Although I think regenerating health does have a place in gaming; it seems to be a bad fad that is stapled onto almost every game, without developers even thinking about how their games would play without it.

The Brutes were only the main enemies in the last levels of halo 2.
