It really is disappointing seeing PC games lacking HDR support. Not many monitors support HDR but I play most games on my TV anyway and my graphics card supports it. If I had an HDR TV I would want my PC games to look their best.

Shin Megami Tensei is probably the best series of JRPGs. Also don't forget Pokemon.

I couldn't care less about Nintendo games. Even if I got a Switch I would not get Super Mario Odyssey and I'd think about Breath of the Wild.

However, Pokemon, SMT5 and Bayonetta 3 have already been announced for the Switch.

So my reason to buy a Switch is the same as every consoles, so I can play exclusives when they eventually come ou.

My favorite game on the PS4 is Bloodborne. I love that game. I also like Infamous Second Son a lot and of course Persona 5.

Do you know which one I didn't like? Uncharted 4. It wanted to be a movie much more than it wanted to be a game.

The fact that the upcoming PS4 games seem to be that way is very disconcerting to me as a PS4 owner.

My GTX 1080 can only handle the game at 1800p so I was wondering how high Xbox One X could go. Good to see that a graphics card that costs more than the whole console can at least outperform it by a little.

I'm a big fan of the Witcher series, I've read all the books and played the first two games twice each. My opinion of the Witcher 3 is the same: It is an amazing achievement, however there is a lot of bad design under the hood that gets overlooked. It too subscribes to the Ubisoft model of a map full of points of interest to visit, like striking things from your shopping list. I prefer open world games like Morrowind where you explore and you discover things naturally.

The Witcher 3 has some amazing quest, especially side quests involving characters that you meet in the main story. It can't be understated how great these are. However, for every Baron, it has 10 generic kill or fetch quests.

A personal gripe with the game is that it disregards lore from the books and changes character personalities and motives, much more than the previous games. It also interprets some elements that become core to the story of the game in a way that is completely different than what I believe were intended.

The Witcher 3 is a great RPG and one I really liked but my favorite in the series is the second one. I think the game lends itself better to more linear storytelling with branching narrative than open world. That's why I also like Hearts of Stone a lot. I think it's the best story thread in the whole third game.

There are certainly things companies could learn from the Witcher when making open world games, mainly that you can still have amazing stories in there and even make them optional. Still I'd prefer if they followed a bit more the formula of games like Morrowind and Gothic (something Bethesda doesn't even do from Oblivion forward), which are the pinnacles of open world RPGs for me.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Shadow of the Colossus PS 4 port

PLUS Multiplats as RDR 2, Metal Gear Survive, Metro Exodus, Farcry 5, Darksiders III, Code Vein, Ni no Kuni II, Anthem ETC. But PC going to be better version of the multiplats as always even over PS 4, Switch or Xbox One X.Lets Leave Multiplats out of this equation as of now.

Does Switch or Xbox got any awesome lineups as PS 4? Personally i don't think so. But you can correct OP through your comments.

Spiderman, God of War, Detroit, Days Gone look really bad. Well I'll give Detroit a pass cause all of David Cage's games are like this anyway but the others have way too much emphasis on cinematic experience. I want gameplay.

The Last of Us Part 2 may be great, on the other hand, Uncharted 4 was mediocre. Of course the first Last of Us followed the atrocious Uncharted 3 so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Death Stranding we know less than nothing about and I doubt it will come out in 2018.

Kingdom Hearts 3, as far as I know, will come out also for the Xbox, but not for PC. As a PS4 and PC owner I'm a bit peeved that I won't be able to play the best version of the game (the best will be on Xbox One X, unless they decide to have a surprise PC release).

FF7 Remake? In 2018? Yeah right. 2019 if we're lucky.

Shadow of the Colossus looks interesting. I never finished the original, I'll probably give it a try.

I'm feeling like Sony is really dropping the ball with their first party games. PS4 has some of the best games in this generation with Bloodborne and Persona 5, but these are from third parties.

The focus on more cinematic experiences doesn't bode well in my opinion.

With all the good JRPGs coming out recently, let's not forget that the best came out 22 years ago. Chrono Trigger of course.

Although I think ranking games is at the end pointless, I sometimes indulge with friends and we discuss which is the second best JRPG. Second best because Chrono Trigger is the best easily.

I agree with some that have already been mentioned so I'll just add a couple that haven't. Supergiant Games (of Bastion and Transistor fame) and Dontnod Entertainment (Life is Strange and Remember me). Of course both have the advantage of not having released many games so far but still.
