@m4a5: They probably haven't decided if it's worth porting it to PS4 and Xbox One when by the time the game comes out, the new consoles will have been released.

@Barighm: Obsidian is now a first party studio, own by Microsoft. You are no longer directly financing them by buying their games. You can use the Game Pass without qualms.

I couldn't care less about any changes that were made regarding the dub. I' m squarely on the subs side of that debate.

About the changes that make the script closer to the Japanese one, I'm fine with them too. Even the Kaoru scene that upset me at first, after reading the online explanations about the original language, I'm fine with it. I understand the value of translation that tries to get the meaning across by being closer to the culture of the intended audience. However I prefer to err in the side of accuracy. The Netflix translation is aimed to worldwide audiences after all, not just the US. It would have felt really jarring to me to see Shinji cursing for example.

The removal of "Fly me to the moon" though is really egregious and that on its own is enough for me to write the Netflix version off as unwatchable. The series mostly has classical music because they didn't have money to licence much else but they did have "Fly my to the moon" and it was a perfect ending to each episode. I used to watch it every time before going to the next one.

It also sucks that they didn't translate on screen text and that they changed the line "All is right with the world", although it's a direct quote.

I've heard it often (from Taura-san as well in this interview) that this is the first time Platinum Games creates an RPG. However they have also co-created Infinite Space which is for me one of the most underrated JRPGs of all time. A true gem on the DS.

@theothersider: If you have a 4K TV though, it's not inconceivable that you may prefer to play it at 4k30 instead of 1080p60.

@joshrmeyer: My guess is that going back and patching the game just for one console wasn't worth the effort. When you have two 4K consoles on the market though and moreover PS4 Pro has sold quite well so there is a user base, it makes sense to invest the time and money for these patches and renew interest in the game. By all accounts the development resources needed aren't that many. They even have high res assets from the PC release.

I think it's absurd to suggest that Destiny 2 will be on 30 fps on Xbox X because Sony made a deal to hold them back. Even to pose it as a questions seems more like fuel for click bait articles.

The by far more plausible reasons are either that they want parity between all Xbox players and having some of them on 60 fps would give them an unfair advantage (it's a bullshit reason I know but it has been done before) or that Xbox One X simply can't deliver 60 fps on the specific game. Let's not forget that although its graphics card is extremely powerful, the CPU is only a 30% faster than the original Xbox One.

@REDShadowG: I don't think there has been such a good digital deal for Dark Souls 3 yet that included the DLC. I'm tempted to get it even though it will probably be months before I get to it.

I agree with most of them. Especially materials expert and necropsy pay for their cost many times over over the course of the game. They are the easiest choices you can make.

I haven't yet finished the game but Toughness and Physician 2 aren't that ubiquitously good. Sure their effects aren't bad but it's a matter of play style.

I would definitely not recommend Leverage if you get it just for traversal. It can also be used to chunk items on enemies but I don't know how effective that is. Purely for traversal purposes, you have grenades that can turn the heavy objects blocking your path into materials. I think it's more efficient to just use these and keep your neuromods for something more effective, like weapon upgrades.
