"FrozeNorth": I'm a Canuckian and we were in the middle of a -45C snap. I was a little cabin feverish and perhaps deranged; but hey, it works.

I know this may sound incomprehensible, but I never liked Halo. Not just the recent one, all of them.

I'm not saying that it's a bad game or anything, I just never understood why everyone thought it was the be all and end all of FPS. It just seemed samey and repetitive to me.

...or maybe it was because I sucked at it. Who knows?

Was gaming with a few friends when one of them pointed something out to me: I own a LOT of EA games. And let's face it, most of you do as well; and it's not like this is a new theory either. EA is here and it's here to stay (and to take all your money). In fact, I'd like you all to try an experiment: go ahead and search "EA" in that little search bar up there, you might be surprised at the numbers that come out.

Anyway, I'll get to my point. EA has enough money to buy God and enough developers to keep them afloat long after even the cockroaches have decided to pack it in. So what if they made their own console?

Think about it: there's nothing really stopping them. And it would make sense that if there was an EA console that every single EA game would be a exclusive, Nintendo does this, as does Microsoft and Sony. So now 99% (hyperbole) of games are only being released on one console that everyone will have to have (because it has 99% of the games) and EA is looking at acquiring more Deitys.

Now, I have a limited understanding of how industrial ownership works, and maybe EA cannot force it's developers to do exclusives, but imagine if it could. This could seriously injure the industry (read: Kill outright).

Now my question: do you think this could happen? What would you do if it did?

Me, I would just shell out the money. Sure EA is like the Empire, but they sometimes put out good games...and I like Madden.
