I played it and did not like it at all. I was bored with it in about 15 minutes but continued to play it for some time. I did not continue to play it for longer stretches of time and I know some are claiming it get's better when you get more time with it.
The bottom line for me is this. A game should be fun. It's not like I am trying to quit smoking and need to go through the difficult phase of having withdraws. This is a game and if it's not enjoyable in the first 15 to 20 minutes, it's a failure.
Not going to dispute if the YLOD is real or not. The RROD is obviously a real issue. The bottom line is this. Next Gen. Consoles are pumping out allot of juice and if you want to play it for very long stretches of time, it only makes sense to do everything you can to help prevent the heat levels from going to high.
This may not prevent issues, but it will minimize them and if you are lucky, you will never have a failed system.
Sony has always made a smaller form factor for their consoles, but if history proves right. This won't happen anytime soon. I would not expect a smaller PS3 for at least anohter 2 years at least. This is my guess obviously.
You need to make sure you have plenty of venting for the PS3. The fan should only speed up when the system is getting hot. Under normal conditions, this is not an issue with the PS3 due to it's great hardware design.
Just remember that your current PS3 hard drive is readable from the PS3 and not a PC. The format is different. This is why the process calls for an external hard drive you can save everything too. The initial hook up will format the drive to work with the PS3. Save your stuff over to it. Now remove the internal HDD and install the new HDD. Boot up your PS3 and it will format the new internal drive to work with the PS3.
Now hook up the external drive which is readable by the PS3 and copy everything over. Reboot and you are done.
Just like anything else, It will take some time to get the HD offering where we would like it, but remember that not everyone has HDTV just yet.
Movies is not why I purchased the PS3 or 360 for that matter, so it's a welcome option in my opinion that I don't have any complaints about. I usually purchase my favorite movies on BD when available.
I Personally did not like the game. The concept was great the interaction was plenty and I was having a blast until I started to realize I had to run around and baby sit people and do things on a Timer that irritated me to no end.
I wanted to roam around and just survive if I wanted too and progress the story when I was ready. This game has too many timed missions that forces you to save people and drag them back to safety. In some missions you have to take stupid pictures of the person doing something. It's pointless.
wat i dont get is that sony is making most of its games only for ps3, but if they would make it for psp and ps2 also ppl would be happy and sony would get more money. i mean, so many good games r coming out for ps3 but ppl, especially ppl that dont have like $500 to just spend, wont go and buy the ps3 just cause it has these games, we have to wait for a year or more till the console goes to like $200 or so and then get it and buy only a game every once in a while. damn, i thought it was about making ur customers happy and making the most money, but i guess not.......simonov1
You need to seriously update your research. Sony is producing a bunch of games for the PS2 that are coming out for the PS2. Too many in my opinion. The PS2 was great but it's finally time to move on and focus on the PS3.
