@JimmeyBurrows - My guess is that even at 1.75ghz, it's still running really cool. That's a really low clock speed for today's processors. AMD(the company supplying the APUs for both the PS4 and Xbox One) has other 8-core CPUs out at 4.2ghz stock. They only currently have quadcore APUs available for the PC crowd, which are also clocked at up to 4.4ghz.

@noturfangirl - Shhh... $600 might get you something equivalent in theory, but truth be told, the games will be optimized for these consoles... The PS4 and Xbox One will be more likely to be on par with $1000-1200 gaming rigs.

A cpu at 1.75ghz today is probably roughly equivalent to a cpu at 3ghz in 2004. Are you also forgetting that both the Xbox One and PS4 have 8-core processors?

@allever - If the cpu performance scales with speed, which is rare, we're looking at an approximate 9.375% improvement in performance. That could be the difference between a game running at 60fps constantly or at times dipping, so I think this is great news.

@GabrielOnuris - I am not on any side of this argument. I would like to point out though that as a pc gamer I do feel I have a lack of games. On consoles their are simulation racing games such as Forza 3 and the upcoming Gran Turismo 5. On pc some would say we have GTR2 or Race On, which I personally think are garbage. My point is I think that pc gaming pretty much has no good simulation racing.

My Xbox has better graphics. Just look at how shiny it is! PS3 isn't shiny. I win. Shiny tiny pee pee PS3. Vashiner. Rawr. Jk. GT5 will probably look better than Forza 3. Will it have the same physics quality? NFS Shift looks better on both consoles because it supposedly gave up physics quality for better graphics. Btw I am just a hardcore racing sim fan, I will own both GT5 and I already am lvl 50 in Forza 3 with top 1% P2P rank.

A 7800 is now classified as very-low end in my book. Very high end? 5890. For medium I would have to say 9800GTX or ati radeon 4890.

A mid-range gaming rig beats all consoles by a long shot.

@rickmaster1101 - They have been out for at least a couple years. It is full 1920x1080 resolution complete with HDMI and component inputs. Bought it for 1800 november 2008. It wasn't a top of the line sony, which can cost upwards of 5000, but the resolution was great. The brightness is not that good for gaming, blu-ray movies look great on it though.

@slikk66 - I have my desktop hooked up to a projector in my custom built theater(separate from house) 14 foot widescreen 1080p with Dolby 5.1. My laptop is hooked up to a 42" Vizio in my room. lol. I bought my 8800ULTRA for 700 when it was top of the line around 2007 and installed in a coolermaster case with my Q6600. The GPU was half the price of the computer total, it was and still is a great performing card. XD

When the 5890 drops to 300 I will consider building a new rig. Until just recently my 8800ultra has been eating most games.
