Why play an FPS using a mouse and keyboard, when you could remap all the controls to a Wacom tablet and a remote control? There's no comparison for using DVD controls. I refuse to play any game at all unless it is specifically created with Wacom tablets in mind.

Although thartist is somewhat bombastic, I have to agree with his point that it really does look as though we're basically getting the same level of detail that a DX9 game could push out. I can make out some specular and bump maps, and obviously the larger resolution graphics, which all look phenomenal, but I cannot see that this alone should convince somebody to make the switch to Vista. It seems, prima facie, at least, as though you would be better off (if you wanted to keep on gaming on the PC, instead of just switching to a 360), to save that money and buy a new graphics card instead.

Just like the Wii, I won't bother buying one until a) there are games for it that I actually want to play, and b) there's some kind of bundle going where I get either a free game or two, or a free controller, or something to sweeten the deal. That's the way it's been with all my other consoles, that's how it'll be with these two. There just isn't enough in terms of games going for the PS3 at the moment, so for me at least, right now it's not even an option.

Looks pretty slow when compared with XP, actually... Not surprising, considering the amount of stuff running under the hood. Sure, it'll be fine for games once you get a DX10 card, but you'll still have to shell out for a new machine. If you're one of the people that's going to have to buy a retail copy of Vista, I don't know that I'd even bother, unless you recently bought or upgraded your machine with Vista in mind. Otherwise, if you're desperate to run the new OS, buy a brand new computer that has Vista already factored into the price. At least that way you'll get it cheaper than the $400AUS you have to pay right now to get any of the decent features. Or, hell, just save your money and buy a 360. It's not like you need Expose and Aero for word-processing. Or WoW, for that matter.
