Thanks for all the replies, guys. I'm not talking about sweat though; even I get sweaty hands especially with the PSP's circle pad thing. Sweat sort of dries up and is easy to get off, but oil/grease/muck just spreads over the whole thing when you try to wipe it. Glad I'm not the only one.

Oh, and that guy who posted previously has a hilarious signature. DeadMan, mind if I share it?

..other people use their electronics without either washing/wiping their hands, and when you get a hold of them, they're greasy? I find myself wiping like crazy when that happens to, say, my PSP.

[QUOTE="silentexistence"]I recommend stripping the quoted messages of any HTML tags they may have and format them by hand instead. Alternatively, you can manually quote them by copying their message text from their post and pasting it between quote tags of your own:
Message being quotedUser being quoted

Yeah, that seemed to work yesterday. I'll see what I can do about it, but I hope the quick links for it get fixed soon. Thanks!

No matter how I try to quote (especially when I try to Quick Quote two different posts,) it says the HTML is not well-formed. Any reason as to why GameSpot won't accept its own codes?

I know that the X and O buttons switch functions in the XMB, but does it carry over to the games? Also, are there any significant differences between a Region 1/US PS3 from a Region 3/Asian version?

I was thinking of switching over from a fat to a slim, but I want to still get a US version, but that's a rare case here.

I guess I have to put it out there though. My biggest concern is the fan noise; having it make such a loud noise is worrisome to me, and it might be an indicator that I might break the system. It's the Philippines, so it's almost always hot here, so I was wondering if I could remedy that and prevent any untoward incidents by switching over to the slim.

Second to that would be the lack of USB ports, but that can be remedied with a multi-slot adapter or something.

Third would be the backwards compatibility, but I only really want to keep one game, and I think I have a working copy for our PS2 anyway, so..

I've gotten over the PS2 BC, I don't really use the card reader slots, but the presence of more USB ports is a plus..

It's not the cost I'm after though because if I sell my PS3 at the price I'm thinking, I need to add less for a slim than what I would a new harddrive.

I'm still not convinced over the fan noise though. What's the record loudest fan noise the slim can make? Mine's pretty loud when I play more recent games..

You have a 60GB model PS3 and you want to switch to a slim. I personally wouldn't make that move. If its disk space you want you can always install a larger drive.

May I ask why, though?

The thing I'm especially wary about is the fan noise. I don't usually play on blasting volumes, and it's quite near, and it gets really loud when the weather's hot (which is almost everyday.)

The hard drive thing I could try, but it's a big hassle for me, really. I don't even know what hard drive to buy and how much hahah. Is there a limit to how much space is good to upgrade to? What's a good size?
