@racerxgundam @peecee1384 @thechuck11 Makes sense that it would... the value of most products falls with time. With gaming, why would I pay a $50 license fee to play a game that is 1 or 2 years old, if I could pay the same $50 fee and play the latest and greatest?
@FarginIcehole @peecee1384 This is a new approach. I'm thinking that the license fee may fall in time after the release date, as interest in a game wanes, customer numbers fall, and the publisher wants to attract new users - just as the value of my second-hand collection is continuously falling with the passing of time. You buy a new game for say $80 and a week later can get $60 for it. But a year later you might get $30 and in 5 years you might be lucky to get $5. Any thoughts on this?
The 2nd hand value of games will be reduced by an amount equivalent to the fee paid by buyers on the second hand market to play the game. Buyers who buy new releases are the ones who will pay, ultimately, I think. Any thoughts? I never buy games upon release. Am happy to wait 6 to 12 months for the price to drop. I still have plenty of great games to play.
