[QUOTE="FelipeInside"]I don't think that is the point here. I'm sure that if there is someone living in the middle of the North Pole with no access to the internet, no one would mind if they used a cracked game to play on their PC. What we are discussing here is when the product is widely available in different media (download, shops, online) and it gets pirated. FelipeInside

That i'm completely against but there is other side to it all as i tried to explain with my example of Valve saying how their intelectual rights got ripped by russian mob few years back.

There is nothing legal nor right about copying or downloading copied game if you can buy it in local shop or direct from publisher, anybody who tries to find excuse for it is defending a crime ,it is theft plain and simple ,same thing if you steal my tv or copy of Half Life 11.Sure they will try to find excuse for it "can't afford it ,it is 2 expensive" at the end of the day if you can't afford something do you have to have it?.Get a job save money then buy it ,none of us work for free, once most of us start copying games 10 years down the line there won't be anything to copy as with our actions we destroy gaming industry ,then we can all go out in garden and play with sticks and stones and think to ourselves how good we were at finding that download link.

LOL, read the prior page... some people seem to think "working for free" is just around the corner....

Crooks will always say something made them do it :D

World Peace is not required at all and is a built in side effect to post-scarcity. As for humans, post-scarcity encourages human nature of being self-interested. And to achieve post-scarcity all you need is technological progress, so your point is invalid.

Post-scarcity isn't about humans holding each others' hands and singing kum-ba-ya and doing things for the common good.

Like I have said many time before, love the idea and I'm glad it helps you sleep at night.....is it going to happen? nope.... believe it will happen for sure soon = naive

Have no sympathy for game developers/publishers crying foul when people go and copy their games or download them from net ,all down to simple question of supply and demand, players demand it publishers don't supply it ,players go on net download illegal copy ,whose fault it is ?

Myself being resident of U.K i can afford and buy any game i like and do all the time ,now my brother living in Eastern Europe can't get same game for love or money except for me to buy U.K version that might or might not work for him, same goes for my friends in Africa money is there but game isn't .

Before people here start going on about Steam and other sites trough which you can buy and download your legal copy of game,Steam for example doesn't accept certain credit cards/payment methods for non EU residents and yet Valve cry when their products are cracked and what not.

Well done to some companies (mainly German) that have developed distribution network trough what Valve and others consider third world and now those German companies are selling games in places that Valve consider low profit markets .... sorry guys you can't have it both ways ,on one hand ignore your customers and on other cry "oh but our intelectual property is being stolen". Go cry some more maybe those tears will do you some good.

So ur saying that if there is absolutely no way of getting the game original (purchased), then it's ok to pirate it?

That is exactly what i'm saying

Either make your product available for purchase to all or don't cry foul if in places that you refuse to supply your product that same product gets copied

Apart from fancy graphics Oblivion had nothing going for it ,played it trough once then put it away as there was nothing to hold my attention,Morrowind on other hand i could play over and over just to explore it once again and be surprised by something i missed before .Friend of mine described Oblivion in such way that it made it simply boring to me "Once you see one ruin and close one gate ,you done all that you need to do"

Sadly for all Obama haters here ,Mc Cain was just another Bush just older

so now you're stuck with Obama .

90 % of Americans that hate Obama hate him because he is black (and name)

they don't hate him because of his policies or so called social leanings.

I'm from Thailand and I got this game a bout 2 weeks ago. The 1.03 patch doesn't seem to work for me, it says that it can't find the installed version (which is 1)... Could anybody help?

BotZakafein

Maybe version conflict

are you talking about 1.03 demo patch or full game patch ?

also where did you downloaded it ?

Retail or DD version

1.03 US patch doesn't work on AUS or UK version
