If it is not before, after or during the Mass Effect trilogy then it is not a Mass Effect game at all, i think Chris, as i've seen before on Bioware forums before, has chosen his words quite poorly.
Unless they plan to pull a Lightning Returns - FFXIII but completely reversed, that is, instead of taking a known character and inserting it into another universe, they plan on taking the Mass Effect universe and inserting it into a new set of characters (if that even makes sense :P) which in my opinion is everything but "very respectful" of the series core pillars.
I pretty much agree that any future Mass Effect universe based game should not be numbered and the "ME4" thing was taken out of context when first mentioned.
Still can't see why MP is needed on this game other than DRM and microtransactions. It doesn't look interesting at all really, i'll just stick to the SP campaign I guess and hope the devs effort into MP does not take out from what SP should be.
I have only one description for this: COMPLETELY POINTLESS The urge to shove multiplayer down every game really pisses me off, leave single player games as single player experiences and focus all the effort on a superb single player playthrough, people will buy the games and the DLCs with that. Putting MP just for the sake of having microtransactions (and DRM) to sell crappy items to avoid getting them through leveling and playing is crap, and every developer should feel bad about it. I was more compelled to pre-order this before, but I followed the safe approach and stayed out of pre-order until seeing more of the game itself, seeing this gives me even less incentive.
Completionist here, can't see a stone without flipping it out to see whats below, felt fun on the last bit about playing 100% of ME1 to be able to move to ME2, i did that for all of my Shepards :p
Meh, i came for gameplay vids, got nothing, couldn't care less about an opinion on a game that hasn't even been released as demo to the public, opinions are just that, they do not serve as judging material imo.
@franzito true enough, i am seriously worried after seeing all the Deadspace 3 footage published, it just looks like any other generic 3rd person shooter, even the guy playing on the gameplay sequences was headshooting the necromorphs instead of dismembering them, that does not bode well :|
Oh yeah and don't forget to make them all trilogies but screw them up on the 3rd installment, so everyone forgets them quickly and you can be back to new IPs ASAP.
Seriously i can't believe how can anyone on EA believe the bullcrap they feed themselves, they are re-releasing the whole C&C saga when people can obtain the old games for free and most already have it on C&C The First Decade disc and yet they claim they can't live without new IPs? Please...
@Estel78 @hombreg1 indeed, i'm not wanting to complain or being picky, there's no reason for that as long as we do notknow what this IP is about. I'm just expressing my desire on what i hope this will be about, just have to wait a few more days until 10th to see it revealed, developers funding their own games is a boon for the industry in general, since it does not restrict their creativity and ideas with unnecessary release schedules, they themselves decide when the game is ready and release it, so as i said before, +1 for this one, waiting for 10th october to know more about it :D
Great games, have them all, except for C&C 4 and RA3 which pretty much screwed the series, i certainly don't wanna see the next C&C if it's gonna be like any those two, as always, EA turning what it touches to turds, and now that they own the franchise their only interest is to squeeze the last penny they can from it.
