1st of all if you are asking for advice, don't criticize it. and you are not going to need a laptop until college which is 4 years away for you. trust me, you will not need it for high school. teachers probably won't evben allow you to use it. Get a desktop PC.

the tablet pc i am going to get, hp tx2000, comes with vista and i want to reformat it with xp tablet. are there any drivers necessary for a touch screen to work or will it work right away with a tablet supported os? thanks

ill respond to my own problem with a fix by going to msconfig and disabling alcmtr and rthdcpl

everytime i start up windows xp my default sound devices keep resetting them selves and making my usb headset the primary device, so on every start up i have to go into the sound settings and change it back to the Realtek HD Audio which is the built in sound on the mobo. any way to fix this so it doesnt keep resetting.
