It's third person, and WoW inspired combat: a passive attack system and skills activated by pressing hot keys. I think this is enough to show me that this game isn't intended to be revolutionary.

@Neo_Sarevok Actually, it shouldn't. It's being developed by a separate company than Bethesda. TES VI will take years and years to come out, but this MMO shouldn't affect it's release. It may however affect gameplay if TESO is successful.

@ChaoticWarzone That's the same reason I stopped playing PC games. I could play anything for a few years but I've spent money on games recently (Civ 5, Sims 3, prince of persia, starcraft 2) that my computer completely won't run (civ) or can barely run, even on crappy graphics (sims, prince of persia, sc2). A new computer would be a huge investment that in a year will be outdated, but my Xbox360 isn't going to be too slow over time, and it's been out for years (since 2005) and they're only now talking about the next generation. An original Xbox30 (that isn't RRD'd) could run Skyrim perfectly where as a PC from 2005 (my laptop is even newer than that) wouldn't even be able to start it unless a huge amount of money was used of graphics cards and other upgrades.

@Brokendemise I've been waiting for Warcraft 4 since WoW came out. I'm still waiting. They've made Starcraft II and Diablo III but they still have 2 more Starcraft's to go. I think we probably aren't going to get to a true Warcraft expansion for years -- if ever. Not to mention Cataclysm already screwed up most of Azeroth -- Cataclysm was actually the reason I've never gone back to WoW.

@stefan_931 I was actually going to write about that however, it was noted in the article Bethesda isn't making the game, another company is. However, I do feel like Bethesda is becoming more money-oriented when I had thought of them as one of my favorite developers for years.

In my opinion MMO's are really dying, they're just trying to steal cash from people who are losing interest in WoW. Companies are spending years building games that have an eventual death; all MMO's are closed down after a while, where as a single player game will last as long as the console and disks can be found. When World of Warcraft goes under, I have a feeling the entire genre is going to go to decay. I've played a lot of MMO's and the only ones besides WoW that I wanted to play for longer than a couple months is EVE (because it's so radically different and deep) and Guild Wars just because it's free and is actually a good game online or offline whereas most fantasy (and even Sci-fi MMO's --SWTOR) are replicas of WOW, yes they build on other games and Blizzard takes from new releases (WAR) but in the end which is the game people care about at the end of a couple years? World of Warcraft.

Bethesda! Why?!

Anybody else remember wasting $50 on LOTR Conquest? I'm not even gonna try on this one, the gameplay is going to suck, and the graphics look terrible as well. I've come to accept that the only good LOTR games will be RTS.
