I don't get it. Why can't you let somebody air a Christian movie without spiting them? Let other people decide for themselves what they believe. This movie is far better than anything Michael Moore has released...those movies were absolutely overflowing with misinformation, propaganda, skewed facts, and outdated studies...same with Al Gore's movie. If you're going to be a critic, at least make some attempt to be fair. It goes without saying that far left liberals will want this movie pulled, they will want Ben Stein crucified, and then they'll want to burn his house to the ground...just like they do to anyone who disagrees with them. If you're out ragging on this movie when you rag on religion 24/7 anyways, your thoughts don't mean anything.its_me_

Nice strawman you've got going there.

It's definitely in the top ten. Personally, I liked No Country for Old Men better, but that's just me.

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"][QUOTE="mindstorm"]That's how science should be done.... not even listening to the other side of the argument. >_>Wolf-Man2006

Um... Creationism isn't science... and doesn't provide any scientific evidence to support its claim. :| So I don't need to know about it if I want to argue against it in a scientific manner.

Doesn't matter: Creationism is the other view to how the world was created so people should learn about the creationism side (so many GS users really need to sit down and learn about creationism badly.)

Depends where. If you want to have them learn about it in philosophy, I'm not going to stop you.

If it's going to be taught in science then I have a problem.

[QUOTE="badaboom187"]Based on your response, none of you guys watched the movie. You guys dont even know the point of the movie. with the exception of Mindstorm.
mindstorm

I've seen Ben Stein on Fox news talk about it, watch in youtube. He says that science should allow for metaphysical theories, thats not science!!! Thats philosophy fools!

If it is true then it would greatly affect science...

Therein lies the problem. Intelligent design is untestable by use of the scientific method. It starts at the conclusion and tries to find facts to support it.

The problem is that there is zero observable evidence for creationism. The theory of "poof god did it" is no more valid than me telling you there are tiny green men living under my desk.PrimordialMeme

Well....there are tiny green men living under your desk.

BTW, amazing parody. Golf clap to whoever made that video.

Don't believe in him in the first place, so I doubt anything would change.

Then again, he works for HBO. They're probably not going to pull a CBS and fire him.

Depends....he offended a large segment of the population. No employer wants bad publicity.

True...but then again, these are the same people who made The Sopranos and Rome.

If Bill Maher gets fired, he'll probably come back on a different channel a few months later.

There's a little thing called freedom of speech. You might have heard of it. Very nice benefit.

I don't think Bill Maher should be fired for what he said. He was speaking his mind. And besides, he's on HBO. I don't think they'd give a damn.

Pat Robertson pulls crap like this almost all the time on Christian television and I don't think he's in any danger of losing his job.

LJS9502_basic

Not really freedom of speech issue. He has to answer to his employers.;)

Then again, he works for HBO. They're probably not going to pull a CBS and fire him.

Eh. They're people. Don't really care if they're white or black, gangster or redneck. I have a strictly "if they don't bother me, I don't bother them" policy.
