@Black_Knight_00:

The characters were definitely drawn, kinda cartoonish.

@Black_Knight_00:

It was sort-of 1st person. I don't think they ever actually showed you, the characters (actors in the movie) just talked with you.

I guess it's be a point and click, but not like a puzzle game. You were directing the movie that was filming, and the game would prompt you for your input on scenes. You also were in charge of making the movie posters and stuff.

Hello! I'm trying to remember the name of a game I played as a kid.
You were either the writer or director of a mystery movie. The game let you pick to put certain clues in the movie, and it allowed the mystery to lead to a different criminal.
I can only remember certain clues - I remember there was a handkerchief that you were supposed to put initials on, a typewriter which had a weird letter... And I feel like the movie name had the word Maltese in it. The mystery, I think, was about a stolen cat - probably a maltese!
I played it when I was young, so it had to be in the late 90's to very early 2000s. It was definitely on Windows though.
Sorry my memory is so spotty, but if you can help me with this, it'd be awesome!
