While any thread may be good for discussion there are a lot of problems with such piracy thread (my observation based status of such thread 6-12 months back) :-

* Many time they are created by people who are not very informed at or are here to troll

* Each and every piracy argument and counter argument has been beaten to death multiple times

* Instead of a centralized thread for such discussion many new users create their own threads resulting in too many such threads and the discussion being fragmented , thus defeating the purpose

* Too much heated disucssions (some one calling someone else thief)

etc

You can try Zanzarah , somewhat similar to pokeman

runs better, looks better, and plays better because there are less glitches
