@razama Yeah, they were "putting together a team to develop certain hardware parts in its R&D department that they were planning to put in the PS4." Sure, genius. Nothing like implementing 6 year old parts in a next-gen console. What'd you read this on some fansite and decide to come copy/paste it here thinking it would make you look all smart and tech savvy? Moron.

@Frosty3223 WoW's "ancient" graphics engine is exactly where it wants to be; they've obviously chosen to go with a cartoonish, timeless design that doesn't require you to buy an entirely new game every two years. It will never be FTP so long as they have the sub numbers to make a monthly fee more lucrative than using microtransactions. And they have A LOT of users still. And, what exactly are you expecting out of an MMO? Do you think you're just going to gear up over the course of a half year and then dominate for the next 6 or 7 years using the exact same gear? How in the hell would that be fun? It's a progressive, dynamic game. It sounds like MMORPGS aren't your thing. Go buy a console RPG and you can play in the same gear and on the same system for as long as you want. And wait for upscaled versions of said game when new consoles arrive so your graphics lust is satiated.

BTW, project Titan is actually playable right now and slated for a 2013 release. Of course you'd know this if you knew how to do a Google search.

This actually makes a lot of sense. Pretty much every home entertainment component has been gradually absorbed by other components for the past 10 years. Right now you don't need a separate blue ray player, dvd player, cd player, DVR, etc.--they're just all part of your gaming system hardware. Why is it unreasonable to think that next gen media centers will absorb this tech as well? It's certainly small enough. And the cost for components to "gamer-ize" a tv will be minimal. Not to mention it allows for the prospect of upgrading individual components yourself, rather than waiting for them to be bundled and shipped to you accordingly. This is all very exciting and I hope he's right. It ultimately means less hardware spend, less clutter and more games to choose from. And I struggle to find anything negative about that.

Mario FPS Xtreme U! Mario runs around shooting flowers at goombas that turn them into rainbows.

PLEASE stay out of this genre, Miyamoto.

@craigprime What's wrong with that? This whole "10 year lifespan" crap didn't start until this generation. Otherwise, it's always been 5-6 years. I'm ok with that. I'd rather buy a new console iteration every 5 years for $300 each than one every 10 years for $600. As a consumer, better technology at a faster rate for a reasonable price will always trump tons of up-front expensive tech that won't change for a decade.

@Vickman178 Do you really think the PS3 and 360 will retain their current price point this holiday season? No.

Whether he likes it or not, there will be a revised model. Even if it features nothing more than extended battery life and a second circle pad. I swear, Miyamoto is unbelievably out of touch with the hardware division of Nintendo. This is the same guy that told everyone last year that people would have to use a 3DS in order to have a multi tablet-like experience with the Wii U. Just shut up and go back to making Mario and Zelda iterations.

@Ghost_702 I never said that they didn't generate revenue. I just said that their current roster of games is bland, boring and been done to death. And shouldn't be expected to create the hype they have in previous years. And, yes, going from 14 million subs to 11 million is a BAD thing. How in the hell can you try to put a positive spin on that? WoW hasn't seen a subscription bump in over three years. Knowing this, would you invest in a company whose primary source of revenue comes from that game?

It makes perfect sense, actually. This is probably the most successful that Blizzard/Activision are going to be. They command a slate of IPs, all of which are now tired reiterations of themselves each year, the MMOs are bleeding subs (except for Diablo) and CoD is dead as dead. Guitar Hero anyone? Selling now is the SMART thing to do. Don't hate on intelligent business decisions.
