@charlieholmes: I mean, we're seeing more games, a wider variety of games, and can get them cheaper than ever right now, but sure! Everything sucks and gaming is totally dead. : p
@xscrapzx: Dances aren't extra things to add to the experience? I mean, I don't really see how giving us more emotes for free fixes Destiny's customization problems (which I don't really have in the first place, but whatever).
@Thanatos2k: Except that, like it or not, there are already plenty of games which cost normal price to buy AND have microtransactions. GTAV does, MGSV does, Dead Space III does, WoW does, Battlefield does, Assassin's Creed does. This is by no means a new thing, even if nobody here is pleased it's happening.
@imdigs:GW2 is no longer buy to play? Because I'm seeing a "pre-order" option on their new expansion.
Anyway, it looks Destiny is following the same plan as GW2 does (or did, maybe) where you pay upfront for the game and expansions, and then there's a cash shop but no subscription fees.
@lostn: Yeah, the random leveling is something I don't hope to see come back. And I agree about the difficulty in Heroes VI. I stopped playing because I got to the end of a mission where you never got a town, didn't have nearly enough troops to fight the boss, and had to start all over again.
@Kunakai: Players wouldn't actually know the costs of producing these emotes, and if Bungie is ostensibly using the money gained through micro-transactions to fund the development of free content updates, then the price of the emotes would be reflective of those costs anyway. But again, we don't and won't ever know what those numbers are.
Everybody who plays Destiny should look at what they're selling, see how much they're selling it for, and then decide for themselves if they want to pay that. Don't worry about how much you think it cost Bungie to make them, or if they'll be able to make better content if you buy them, those aren't things you know. Just decide if $X is worth a new dance for you character, and then either buy them or don't.
@mrbojangles25: I don't think the inventory favors a controller at all. You've got to D-Pad through everything to find what you want. Grid inventories are rarely great for controllers unless they do something like Destiny and give you a fake mouse.
@xolivierx: I care. I'm not going to buy a game just because Troy Baker's in it, but I like to know if anybody whose work I liked before is a game I might be interested in.
