Interesting. Will wait for more updates. After watching the movies (and slowly going through the books), I'd thought the universe wouldn't be as expansive, even though there is so more lore packed into the books. I guess all of this will be prequels to the trilogy.
Us consumers can see the ups and downs of 3D gaming, some because of motion sickness and others (the most important point) is about the price. Especially about the price. I don't mind the glasses, it my personal experience with the game at that moment. And the only option for me is to buy more glasses if I have a reasonable amount of people at my house to watch a movie or game. The games aren't party games, they're just single person experienced games = single players. Most of the time multiplayer (not online) games would be 2-4 players, the average no. of family members. So, 4 glasses is already a must. So far? No Big at all. Just cost. Then there's the developers. They seem so excited about the 3D technology and what it can bring. What ELSE are they seeing in this technology that we can't? What else can they do with 3D? How innovative can they be with 3D? Gran Turismo 5 has the idea. Using 3D and the PlayStation Eye; where we can turn our heads to look around the cockpit and turn to use the full windscreen of the car. Though limited but perfectly logical in racing. We don't keep our heads perfectly straight on when we're driving. We need to see the oncoming turn. I'm excited for 3D, FPS's and the sniping. Racing and the sense of speed. Atmospheres that really seem to come to life, jungles and especially Sci-fi games. Depth precision. A decrease in eye strain because 3D is tricking our brains to focus the background.
My dad is waiting for Gran Turismo 5 and F1 2010. Mostly Gran Turismo 5. Keeps asking me when I'm about to go buy a new game, Dad: "not Gran Turismo 5?!" Me: "It's not out yet!!!" Dad: "I know (laughs)"
haha, i like shaun's gut reaction because it really came from his gut. The most nauseous game I can remember recently is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune when going up stream with Elena on a jet ski. As mush as I love 3D (first experienced from Disneyland attractions), I think a video in 3D lasting more than 15 minutes will get me dizzy, Avatar was okay but I had to take off the 3D glasses off once in a while. Plus I'm already wearing glasses, so it was sorta annoying. What's worse in a video game is that you're in control of a camera (if third person) and if it's action packed... there goes the rest of my day lying down trying to stop my brain from spinning inside my skull.
because the Wii attracts a different sort of customers and it's graphics are made to be simple. The Wii can't really play in HD, you can play it on HD but either it will have no difference or it will be worse. Wiii can't even play DVD's and HDDVD's (which really don't exist anymore).
