@pixelstuff: Urgh I recognize some of my former self in this reply, back when I was also this naive. Completely sold on fancy promises, "responsive" developers, "the biggest cake/pie/doughnut/ploughing chocolate covered cherries with golden cover". "Oh it's alpha, everything's fine." Crap like that is why this industry is so fucked. Most of the high profile games that come out are overhyped garbage with nothing but empty promises behind their millions of pre-orders. I'll be as happy as anyone if Star Citizen actually turns out OK, but I've been in gaming for too long to hold on to this kind of attitude.
This game is starting to look like Firefall 2.0. NOT in a good way.
Everyone that plays it among my friends says it's a bag of cool, but completely disconnected features that in no way form a connected experience, which a game should have. In short: it has no core gameplay loop. And we all know what happens when devs get stuck in "adding features mode". At some point the money runs out and they are too lost in the mayhem of stuff they have created, that they loose the original vision. Community pressures to release (as it already does, looking at comments here), there is no money or time to make those features into a full experience, and by that point the devs don't even know anymore what that full experience should be, so the game ends up being a failure.
Hell, even the underlying tech is related: Firefall was the first ever game to run on AWS as a backend service.
@phili878: There is but not here. Gamespot is not "Game news". It's game and movie related collection of clickbait articles, that are posted according to trends and not with the intention to inform people of something. If you want news there's Gamasutra or some honest youtube channel, even RPS, to an extent, can be called a "news" site (when they aren't preaching their cancerous politics). But Gamespot or IGN or Polygon (worst one) are just a collection of clickbaits. They are good to visit to check what are the current hot topics, but you shouldn't come here for news or reviews or you won't have a good view of the industry.
@Rushaoz: BF2 is one of the best combined arms shooters of all time. And among those who played it, you will find far more people that agree with that statement, than those who don't. That alone means it's a great game. As for why - there are too many reasons to explain everything to someone who's already made up their mind. Suffice it to say, take everything EA's Battlefront is missing, add it and make the graphics worse, and you will have something that resembles a proper BF game.
It should be the content creator's job to discolse info like that, not Warner Bros. Warner are assholes, when it comes to consumer-friendly business, that is true, however this one is not their fault. The one to blame here is this PewDiePie person, as well as others who took the piblisher's money and didn't disclose that in their content.
Also can we all agree that Jessica probably has the best possible surname for her job?
