I like trophy hunting but I've pretty much had it with anything online. Playing, booting, whatever. The last game I boosted was Shift 2: Unleashed. There was a "King of the Hill" trophy that required you to win an online elimination tournament that had about 6 or so rounds. Trouble was that A) it was a separate mode that very few people played B) those who did play it just treated it as a demolition derby, taking all skill out of the equation and C) once you got near the top of the tournament, you could literally sit there for hours waiting for another player. And that was right at launch and in the weeks following.

So I got together with 3 other people and we undertook the extremely time consuming task of trying to get to the top of this thing just racing against each other. After about 6 hours of switching back and forth between several different user accounts which we all had to set up, we finally got one person to the top and she got the trophy. She promised and promised that she'd return and help the rest of us as we'd helped her. Know what she did the next day? Started on some other game and never helped us again. Despite her numerous promises and no-shows for further boosting sessions.

F' it.

I'll stick with my single-player games from now on.

I'm starting to rpefer sp games now as a result, or games without stealth...and here I am with all ps3 metal gear solid games -_- [QUOTE="Zeviander"]This whole "achievement/trophy" culture has ruined competitive play on consoles. Not to mention the "points" given out to buy unlocks (or in CoD's case, game-modifying equipment must be earned by time investment rather than given out to everyone to level the field). Personally, I have never cared for most achievements, and couldn't care less about trophies. The only ones that were entertaining and creative were in Dead Rising on the 360. Those made playing the game again and again worth it. Getting 5G for completing the tutorial level isn't anything beyond a Pavlovian reward. I do wish developers would realize that in order to keep gamers interested in playing a game, they should make something that is genuinely replayable, rather than shoe-horning in a system of points-for-invested-time. The best multiplayer games I've played in my life have been those that offer a simple set of weapons/classes to choose from (medic, grenadier, etc), and don't have a single thing to "unlock". Basing their "fun factor" entirely on the gameplay itself.

I had to agree on alot of points, a trophy for starting up a game...come on! I go for the plats of a game, they mean more than the whole set at times, if you enjoy a game give it a plat to show your love for it, if you're doing it for a bigger ego then you wont have much fun, I'm thankful in 90% of my purchases I had fun...the other I later regretted due to just being rubbish and I was blinded to it (crysis 2, they never fixed what they said they would) or was just heap... So far only 3 games were worth plaing without trophies to hunt, and I put a fair bit of time into them... 200+ hours in lost planet 2 (playing sp or mp was damn fun with the right guns and perks), 400+ in battlefield 3 (bought bf3 premium, the trophies mean little for hunters thus its mostly a compliment) and thinking of pumping more into transformers (I managed to bring the little skill I have in bf3 to transformers, most times first most games, MADNESS). What about dead rising 2, that had a nice list...a bit of a grind though especially with the time factored 72,000 zombie kills, needed to beat story while doing so for extra time... Oh and lost planet 2 had a good list, demanded alot of skill getting all those titles...even one for #1 on leaderboards...which I never got, I'm good but NOT THAT GOOD DX

Hello, first and foremost I'm a ps3 trophy hunter, with 54 plats which for 80% of the time I earnt with my own blood, sweet, tears, sheer skill and the odd glitch...no hacking!

However, until now I did do a little boosting, mostly for a few trophies, mostly ones that required numbers (aliens vs predator's 6 pack needed a total of 7 people) and avoided the ones I knew I can do by myself, avoiding game breaking glitches unless I felt the game was complete already (alice madness returns-loved the story and graphics but felt playing it all again on hard wasn't nessercary).

I have now recently retired from any form of boosting after ghost recon future solider as I not only saw the main reason why boosting is frowned upon (takes out the skill) but why for boosters themselves its bad (selfish people get what they need then leave!)...

For a whole month me and a team of 8 total boosted the trophies for the squad games (forced clan games), at first we wanted to try to do it legit, and assembled a team of 4 to actually try to rock this mode, like we did in public games...

Needless to say 4 "soliders" stood no chance, at times squads of 6 came online and dominated us and even called us names, we even got desperate to ask legitimate teams to help us...how sad right?

Then we got lucky and found another guy claiming he had his own team to help, problem was his team was mixed hunters and my team had their own issues, even loosing faith in the game...after changing the roster it took A MONTH to get what could of been done in a week of legit play, yes we could of worked on our skill but we had maxed out riflemen...and didn't like the other classes, after that I said "no more boosting, THAT'S IT".

Recently got the platinum for transformers fall of cybertron, ones that I thought would need a boost turned out that all I needed was sheer amazing skill (had to grab the flag 3 times in a CTF game, and with 3 flags being the score limit, and home flag needed to capture...this took a week) or luck (the co-op horde mode aka "esalation" I ended up carrying teams of randoms, ethier mic use or just being the best damn medic around).

But in a trophy based forum I seen a discussion about the need to boost xp...their excuse "I don't have time to grind 40 hours of play".

Well...no, it doesn't take that long unless you lack skill and...wouldn't you want games to last longer than 5 mins, THAT'S WHAT GAMES LIKE SKYRIM ARE FOR :D

So boosting isn't just about having the fake honour of being a 69th prestige in call of duty, while it still is, its also for the trophies, and trophy hunters usually try to do it privately to avoid having the whistle blown...

Some hunters do it for honour, some just want a bigger rating (like those top 10 guys, who apparently employ hacks from time to time...) you can tell which is which depending if you see a guy with a high rating playing like a boss, and a guy who wants fake honour because he's max rank in a game and can't play for the life of him/her (yes-there are infact girls who do this surprisingly).

...ok yeah fake honour XD

So, if you see a booster, how do you deal with it, does it bother you, would you go immature and send them a psn message full of cussing expecting them to quit somehow?

Well now that I retired from it...if I ever find one in transformers or battlefield 3...I stalk them until they rage quit, good fun and I earn points because they'd usually lack the skill to fight back, they wanna boost, do it privately and don't head to public games to show off their noobness ^^

...how weak, please be doing it for achievements and not to go around showing that you got prime without actually working for it!

For some reason I started hating on the first game, it must of been alot...I traded the game in for another.

But this one I fell in love with, the changes to movement I've adapted to (dont need no double jump-DASH FOR GLORY), and while I miss the disguise ability the scientist once had (used to love playing conquest and dropping smack bang into a group and waiting before melee killing them all XD) I've over come it...and saw why.

No class is op, I was playing some tdm, I was first mvp with all of the classes....ok not with the destroyer sadly but I prefer not to noob tube with such small splash...ima spray and pray kinda guy ;)

Each class feels more role based, titans are the grunts of battle charging head on, with a scientist as support, infiltrators flanking and bashing some heads and destroyers blowing away at the bottle necks...
Why today, I come across the 10th ranked world wide for tdm, and we were neck and neck...I HATE tdm but had no choice but to play...and we kept neck to neck...thank god he came, the level of skill was low, I was mvp first for 20 gamesbefore he shown up :S
Conquest is fun, just a shame like all objective based games its under populated and...I'm always on the loosing team -_-

So if you see me on the ps3 version, running as a scientist with a sentry, you best have a medic by your side, one on one or even 2 on 1 I may well give you a surprise ;)

I also make a cameo as a medic in escalation....BECAUSE NO ONE USES THEIR ABILITIES PROPERLY AND THUS IM CARRYING THEM ALL DX

But yes, love the game, no complaints...except this one I found.

As well as these issues, mp is fun, just needs polish.

Bah, I hated all these changes...now I become accustomed to the game again, if you're the jet hoving and firing just transform back and forth and MOVE. Double jump not needed, the air dash works fine. Overall I'm now used to these changes...

It's Grasshopper so I seriously doubt it. I was hoping for a PC version of No More Heroes but that didnt happen either. I dont think Japanese developers like the PC platform.

demonic_85

There are...ways to play it on pc...but im not gonna mention.

Anywho, no pc version is a strong possibility.

[QUOTE="Hortey"]

There are no sniper rifles, each class gets 2 weapons; the assault gets 2 assault rifles (one of them is the f2000), the engineer gets 2 pdws (one of them is the mk17), and the scout class gets 2 smgs (one of them being the mp9).

The next dlc will most likely give us 2 LMG's, 2 shotguns, and 2 sniper rifles to even it out.

BARC_Trooper

Then, how come on the Sniper Rifle Challenges for the Campaign it lists 8 snipers instead of just the 6 that are in the gunsmith? Also its "PDRs(Personal Defence Rifles)" not "pdws(personal defence whatevers)".
