So, I finaly put together the Q6600 PC and checked the CPU-Z... It says I have Stepping B, Revision G0.

Just to see if I can set it on fire with the stock cooler I went ahead and changed FSB from 266 to 333, so it was on 3Ghz instead of 2,4. It started up fine and I even ran 1 cycle (no more, it has a stock cooler atm :P) and the temps werent THAT horrible, about 65C measured with CoreTemp.

I concluded, that maybe there is a chance I can get it to run stable at 3Ghz with a decent cooler, since it didn't blow up or anything with the stock one :D

Which cooler would you recomend? I was looking at either Scythe Mugen 2 Rev.B for 40€, Arctic Cooling freezer Extreme Rev.2 for 30€ or the Noctua NH-U9 Special Edition doesn't look bad for 55€ since it comes with 2 12mm noctua fans (NF-B9 fans to be exact)

What do you think?

Yeah, I know it is kinda cheap for a TI version since the only other card I found that comes close to this price is a Sapphire GTX 560 NOT TI...

That's why I am wondering how come it's so cheap? I tought maybe it's cheap because PALIT isn't very good?

I don't really know, I never had a PALIT card before :/

It's like this:

HD 6950

The cheapest I can get is sapphire 1GB version for 206€ or XFX for 210€ (dual fan version) others are all above 220€ which I don't want to pay for a gfx card right now.

GTX 560

The cheapest I found is MSI for 174€ but it's not TI

The cheapest TI I found is PALIT GTX 560TI for 180€

The PALIT one seems like a good deal to me since it's TI version and its "only" 180€.

My guestion here is, how is with PALIT? Is it a good brand, is it worse then something like sapphire or gigabyte? I am worried because it's significantly cheaper then the other TI versions :/

Only the 2gb version a has any chance of unlocking

Correct. The 560 cards are very very good. Especially if you can get it for 30-40 cheaper like you said. Mine was 216 euro and is in my first ever build but it plays so well. Very good card. And the MSI version has a fantastic cooler. Great choice.

And even that isn't asured right? :/

Epic quote is epic :D

[QUOTE="04dcarraher"]The GTX 560 ti trade blows with the 6950 but the 6950 tends to win more so, The architectures are different between AMD and Nvidia. you cant compare SP's to SP's, Also the 560 ti is a great Overclocker and once Oc'ed its as fast or faster then a stock 6950most of the time. 04dcarraher

So it's better to go for 6950 if I am not planning on overclocking it?

And maybe (fingers crossed) I get the version that is unlockable to 6970 :)
