There's no such thing as a tie. The runner either beat the throw or he didn't.

Oleg_Huzwog
Obviously you are right in the most technical sense, but if you allow for reaction time (umpires can't watch plays as slowly as we can on replays), then there are definitely ties. If a runner beats the throw by 0.1 seconds, it's going to be realistically appear to be a tie to the naked eye.

Can someone please explain to me why everyone is saying it's so much money?

It's the same salary as Santana got last season.

That means the market has not moved up at all from one year. Why are people saying that the Yankees paid so much? They got a deal for getting the top free agent at last year's prices.

Jaysonguy

santana got a 140 million dollar deal and it simple to say that Santana>Sabathia

No it's not, that's what no one is grasping.

Sabathia's deal is longer then Santana's but when you break it down per year it's the same

That means the market did not move at all in the offseason.

If Santana had a contract as long as Sabathia's then they would be the same.

The Yankees went out in 2008 and got the biggest free agent available at 2007's going rate.

Santana is a better pitcher though. Just because both years biggest free agent pitcher had the same contract, doesn't make it equal. I would take Santana over Sabathia any day.

your so wrong dude matt ryan does more then forte could ever dream of doing. matt ryan is number one in the NFL in converting 3rd down and long, more then 7 yards passing. he's on pace for 17 touchdowns and over 3000 yards passing as a rookie. matt forte isnt even the best rookie rb in the nfl. chris johnson is twice as good. matt ryan plays in a tougher division the forte too. matt ryan is 3-0 agianst the nfc north if he was in that division he would be MVP

bytgames

even if he sint the best rookie rb he has done more for that offense than ryan has done, michael turner is the reason the falcons are actually pretty good this year

you are so stupid the bears suck matt forte has had nice gamea agianst weak opponents. but the falcons are 8-0 when matt ryan has a qb rating over 90 he is the reason the falcons win . come back and talk to me when u know what your talking about.

Falcons are 7-0 when Turner runs for over 90 yards. Tough to say who's more important.

doesn't even make sense to beat the redskins and then get destroyed by the 49ers

That is what each ball park unique. Just becuas ur bluejays can seldom hit over the monster doesnt mean you have o bash our ballpark. Fenway is one of the most beloved ballparks and it does matter. The monster is a challenge but can be done with some actaul effort.Soxguy09

lol @ your blue jays comment when the jays tend to play just fine against the red sox.

it has nothing to do with the red sox, i just think the ballpark is a gimmick, i can't take it seriously

Fenway Park is a big gimmick. Not only does it have a high wall that makes no sense in baseball, it has an extremely low wall that makes no sense as well. The distance to right field is a joke. Baseball fields should have one wall of equal height all around, like most fields in the MLB.

I agree that Fenway is a dump. So what if it is beloved? The dimensions are just gimmicky and dumb. I hate the Yankees but Yankee Stadium is a nice stadium. Fenway is not.

Phillies deserved it the whole way Rays looked like trash the whole series the Philleis beat them and msot of the time they weren even laying their best. The city is crazy right now, partying through the morning, phillies gear flying off shelves, parade tommorow! Its like one giant party!!! In 1980 all 4 major philly soprts teams made it to their respective championships, i opredict this happening this yeaer as well.

Why is vereyone talking down the Phillies? They have the best lineup and bullpen in the MLB whats not to like?

Bauers-Twin

haha

the eagles? last place in their division..i don't see them even making the playoffs

the flyers? not even in a playoff spot 10 games into the season..

the 76ers? looked pretty awful in game 1 and have basically no chance of getting past the celtics

i would worry about those three teams making the playoffs..

It's a secret mission. Go to the police station in Saint's Row on the waterfront and go to room 303.
