Just had this theory in mind that in the end of Dead Space 3 you will battle your coop partner in the final battle! Why you may think? Well first of all DS3 will have gun against gun combat with cover system, which means it's highly possible to get it working with PVP. And second is that Isaac seem to have gone insane. As seen in the gamescom trailer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRb_3Zh-8Z8 (don't worry I linked to gamespot channel), around 0:24 Isaac is all obsessed by the some marker signs and the coop partner, John Carver stops him before God knows what. It's nothing new that Isaac being insane, as Nicole was controlling him in the prequels. Who knows, maybe shes still Inside Isaacs head. Anyway. My theory is that Isaac will go apeshi- in the end and this John Carver guy will have no other choice than to take him down. Different endings depending on who wins.
