I was playing Monkey Ball, not sure the mini-game, but you had to dive around and use a hook to capture certain treasures.  I LOVED that you had to hold the Wiimote like you would a joystick and was wondering if any of you feel the same way.

I read up a little on Heatseeker expecting them to mention you can fly with the Wiimote as you would in a flight sim game, with the Wiimote positioned like a joystick, but I don't think it will come to be.

I just have so many hopes for this concept as it could easily bring the flight combat sim like attack helo games and jet fighting games with the joystick twist to it.  What do you guys think?

Any other ideas how you could hold the Wiimote for a specific genre? (i.e. sword fighting, aim down on sight = bring the controller back towards your head, etc)

PEACE

actually....
Red light means standby mode....
Orange/Amber light means standby and connected to the internet (wiiconnect24)

Good to know..I'm basically going off what msot other peripherals without Internet connectivity show up. thanks for the confirmation. I always thought the "blue" light pulsing was the Wii on 24connect, but I gather it's probably just downloading new news channel headers, weather updates and others? either way, my cats LOVE the blue light! :) PEACE

Thanks for the replies guys. Actually, it has happened twice with Zelda and once with Raving Rabbids. When it brings me to the "Press A" screen/prompt, I have tried repeatedly pressing the A button from either of the Wiimotes and the four lights continuously blink, then disappear. If I try it 4-5 times, it eventually doesn't do anything. The only soultion, more a band-aid, has been to completely unplug the Wii from the wall. I figured a "red" light meant "shut off" and "amber light" meant "standby mode" I don't think I had this problem with the original firmware revision only since updating shopping channel, etc...then again, I never played much until i got my HDTV to push out 420p (i couldn't stand playing RCA when my GC looked better on s-video) I'm glad I am not the only one, alot friendlier here than on Nintendo's official technical forum, hehehe PEACE

Hey all,

I've had this weird issue with my Wii ever since the beginning.  It doesn't happen all the time but I'm trying to figure out if I'm the only one who's been able to reproduce this problem:

  1. Turn Wii on with disc; play a game for a while
  2. Press your 'home' key and brings you back to menu
  3. Go to your messages and browse around
  4. do whatever else you want
  5. Turn off the Wii
  6. Turn the Wii back on with the Wiimote, all of a sudden I can't use the Wiimote when it asks to Press A

I've also had this issue when I've been in-game, the game locks up completely and I have to actually unplug the Wii for approximately 10 seconds for the Wii to recognize my Wiimote again.  It doesn't matter if the 'status' light is orange or red.

Anyone with this issue?

PEACE
