I don't understand why Sony would want to potentially lose its PS4 base. The PS4 has a huge install base, they make royalties on the games released for it, and this new console might just split the communities up.
I actually in the last month played mgs 1 2 3 4 and am on snake eater. Ive played 2 and 3 before, but never played the original Mgs1 (played twin snakes) or 4.
Even without nostalgia glasses,i think MGS 1 might be my favorite. Its so atmospheric. You really feel like a spy on a mission and i just felt i got way more into it then the others, even though i absolutely enjoyed all of them. The game starts and ends at Shadow Moses, and i think thats what added to the whole atmosphere. I think that game aged better as a whole package then maby of the other 1998 classics.
PC gaming won't die but I think it is unlikely we will see any big developer/publisher spend a ton of money making a mainly single player based game exclusive for the PC. The thing that sucks there we wont see big games like Mass Effect, or Deus Ex that could benefit hugely from utilizing the full power of the current PC technology do so. Instead every game has to limit itself to the weakest console, which means smaller levels, worlds, maybe even less depth overall etc. PC does get MMORPGs but that is not everyones cup of tea. I loved Mass Effect but I could not help but think what more they could have even done with it if it were PC exclusive.
