P.s what about online businesses on ebay that sells used games. These big companies act like they're not making money but they have money to send people all over the world to jeruselum and mount everest and all this when researching and developing games and they're making millions in prifits. They're eating steak dinners while some of that wealth is shared with the common man and smaller companies who sell their products used which offers countless outlets for advertizement helping push their major brand. if used games are blocked that whole business of ebay sellers is gone and some people make a living off that. in fact the current model supports entrepreneurship and boosts small businesses while strengthening major brands. without that distribution of used games the small business is hurt and the brand loses a major amount of advertizing and we all kno he who advertizes the most sells the most so in the end I think everybody loses including the big name companies

@ lance_7 For me and I think for many others the difference between used games and new games isn't just \$5-\$10. I get used games online for \$20 all the time or from the under \$20 bin @ gamestop. I played some of the best games this generation because of that like Metal Gear solid 4. the bargain bin has been vital to keeping me entertained between game development as a die hard gamer. its much easier to spend \$20 all at once then it is to spend \$60. I may still only buy 3 games and would liked to have bought a 4th but now I only have \$20. I rarely buy new games unless I really want to support the developer and that extra money I save on used games is what allows me to buy 4 or 5 games or buy games during the dry spells while more big name titles are being developed. Maybe I am interested in a game but not confident enough to pay full retail so I try it for \$20. ok I don't like it but I only spent \$20 so thats worth it. Now if I have to pay full retail just to try a game im not confident in buying I wont even give that game a second glance and that developer is completely ignored. Seems like the model supports big companies that have well established brands and stifles smaller development companies. So to me that translates to less variety of games to choose from which is bad. Also having to spend more money on the games themselves translates to me having less of them which is also bad.

I can think of 1 simple solution........give me the ability to sell or trade my game digitally. if its my property I should be able to sell it for some kind of profit.

p.s. What about collectors editions? there is a whole industry based around collectors who are some of the main and most loyal buyers which will become a dead industry. And what about that NEW GAME SMELL!? that makes all the difference.

I think if there aren't any used games, although they will get full retail price for the games they develope they will actually sell less games. alot of players only buy used games and cant afford to pay full price for every new game. Instead of people having 10 games now they willonly have 5 and they will be alot more cautous to buy. Also the ability to buy used games is something the consoles have going for it. Its actually something that makes it superior to pc gaming and gives you a reason to buy the console. If they make the games 1 time access to play like PC games are, well heck why not just game on your PC then since it can do more variety of things then a console anyway. I think this will push more people towards PC gaming and will actually make consoles obsolete. if everything becomes digital and we dont have a hard copy of the game and we are forced to have restrictions on access I think people are actually more inclined to move towards piracy. Like the saying goes rules were made to be broken. Its much easier to download a ISO file off the internet then it is to hard hack a system so many people will move to PC for gaming and enevitably learn how to easily download ISO files rather than deal with the restrictions of the consoles. People just dont have the money to pay full retail for all these games but the desire to play is going to flood the industry with piracy in this new digital medium. Just you watch. Better to stick with the scheme they have now
